This isn’t a knock on new coach John Pelphrey as much as it is on the players on the team. The Razorbacks have enough talent that they shouldn’t be on the proverbial bubble down the stretch.
However, that’s exactly where Arkansas is right now with an 18-9 record and a 7-6 mark in the SEC. The Hogs have five seniors who play a ton of minutes and also boast one of the biggest frontlines in the country with 6-foot-6 wing Sonny Weems, Darian Townes, Steven Hill, Charles Thomas and Michael Washington coming off the bench.
The issue has been chemistry and point guard play. The duo of Gary Ervin and Stefan Welsh just hasn’t been consistent enough — and the Razorbacks have lost four of their last five games and appear to be on the outside looking in. [read more]
