Arkansas freshman Nate Rakestraw quit the Razorbacks basketball team earlierNate Rakestraw today, the Northwest Arkansas Times‘ Nate Allen reports.
The former Springdale Har-Ber High player appeared in 11 games, went 0 for 7 from the field and failed to score one point in his one season with the Hogs.
His father, P.D. Rakestraw, said Nate Rakestraw will not transfer to a Division II or NAIA school. If he were to pursue that option, the former UA freshman would be allowed to play immediately on a basketball squad. [read more]
