UA’s McDonnell To Retire After 36 Years And 42 National Track Titles

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas track coach John McDonnell is retiring after 36 years as the head Hog.

After 36 years and 42 national titles, McDonnell said its time to move on to the next chapter in his life, McDonnell said in a press conference Monday afternoon.

McDonnell, along with chancellor John White, athletic director Jeff Long, and former athletic director Frank Broyles were all present for the announcement.

McDonnell said that he wanted to spend time with his family, but that he would continue coaching part-time for some Olympic athletes. [read more] [video]
