FAYETTEVILLE – Marcus Monk might be returning to Arkansas to play basketball.
Monk, who tops the school’s charts for career touchdowns by a wide receiver, has discussed the possibility of joining the basketball team next semester. He has had preliminary talks with Coach John Pelphrey and is investigating the possibility of a return to school and basketball.
“It’s being investigated,” Pelphrey said. “It’s really premature.”
Because Monk, 6-4, 222, graduated from school in three-and-a-half years and played four years of football, he might have a year of eligibility remaining for basketball. A former state high school player of the year, Monk played 10 games for the Razorbacks as a freshman. [read more]
