Petrino praises attitudes FAYETTEVILLE Some teams whose goals start dropping by the wayside fall flat along with those hopes.

That has not been the case with Bobby Petrino’s first team at Arkansas. The Razorbacks were a common pick to finish last in the SEC West in a rebuilding campaign, and the prognosticators have not been proved wrong yet.

However, since suffering back-to-back losses to Alabama and Texas, ranked second and first in the BCS standings, the Razorbacks have been hotly competitive. They stayed within striking distance into the fourth quarter in a home loss to Florida, then won at Auburn and had a second consecutive SEC road victory an impressive feat against any opponent in their sights until a disastrous finish at Kentucky. On Saturday, they battled to the end in a 23-21 loss to Ole Miss. Some time we’re going to learn how to win a close game and we’re going to grow up and this is all going to pay off, and we’re going to owe a lot to the seniors for the way they kept us together and kept us practicing hard, Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino said.
