That has not been the case with Bobby Petrino’s first team at Arkansas. The Razorbacks were a common pick to finish last in the SEC West in a rebuilding campaign, and the prognosticators have not been proved wrong yet.
However, since suffering back-to-back losses to Alabama and Texas, ranked second and first in the BCS standings, the Razorbacks have been hotly competitive. They stayed within striking distance into the fourth quarter in a home loss to Florida, then won at Auburn and had a second consecutive SEC road victory an impressive feat against any opponent in their sights until a disastrous finish at Kentucky. On Saturday, they battled to the end in a 23-21 loss to Ole Miss.
