The Razorbacks can hardly “weight” to see where Malcolm Sheppard will be next football season.
Come this time next year, expect the Arkansas senior-to-be defensive lineman to be a lot bigger or maybe a trifle smaller than the listed 277 pounds on his 6-3 frame. Sheppard has played both defensive end and defense tackle these past three Razorback seasons, mostly tackle in 2008.
First-year head coach Bobby Petrino and first-year defensive coordinator Willy Robinson inherited what appeared good depth at defensive end with senior Antwain Robinson, dismissed from the team before the season’s 5-7 end, Adrian Davis, Damario Ambrose and redshirt freshman Jake Bequette, starting more often than any with 10 it turned out.
So Sheppard was the too-small tackle still too good for most teams to block for long. [read more]
