Arkansas entertained 19 football recruits on official visits during the Jan. 9-11 weekend, and so far Coach Bobby Petrino and his staff have seen very good results.
Seven of the visitors were already committed to the Hogs, while the other 12 prospects were still looking when they arrived.
Since then, Arkansas has received oral commitments from six of the 12 and is awaiting word on Bastrop, La., defensive lineman DeQuinta “DD” Jones, 6-4, 302 pounds, 4.92 seconds in the 40-yard dash; offensive lineman Aubery Phillips, 6-6, 322, 5.1, of Olive Branch, Miss.; and defensive end Alex Williams, 6-5, 215, 4.6, of Tallahassee (Fla.) FAMU. All three are expected to announce their decisions Feb. 4, national signing day.
Arkansas’ commitments include quarterback Brandon Mitchell, 6-4, 220, 4.5, of Amite, La.; defensive back Rudell Crim, 5-11, 180, 4.37, of Butler (Kan.) Community College; linebacker Terrell Williams, 6-3, 215, 4.6, of Tulsa Union; offensive lineman Shauntez Bruce, 6-5, 300, 5.1 of Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln; running back Ronnie Wingo, 6-3, 212, 4.41, of St. Louis University High School and receiver Cobi Hamilton, 6-3, 200, 4.52, of Texarkana, Texas. [read more]
