Arkansas fans have been anxiously awaiting Ryan Mallett’s debut in a Razorbacks uniform.
They might get to see more of the Michigan transfer than anybody expected next season.
Mallett, the favorite to be the Hogs’ starter at quarterback in 2009, may also end up doing some punting for them.
Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said Stephen Barnett and Mallett would handle the punting chores during spring practice, which opens today for the Razorbacks.
“Ryan can certainly do it,” Petrino said. “He’s got great flexibility and gets the ball up high. I think there will be some times during games you’ll see him do that.” [read more]
