Mike Anderson almost slipped unnoticed into the seat, in the second row of the press area courtside at the University of Phoenix Stadium.


The crowd was distracted by the Connecticut-Purdue game that was about five minutes into the second half, and the Missouri coach’s anonymity might have been secured if the entire Mizzou cheering section wasn’t situated directly behind his chosen folding chair.

But it was, and Anderson, who has spent the entirety of his time at Missouri — he was hired on March 26, 2006, exactly three years before this Sweet 16 clash — repairing the public-relations debacle that he inherited after the Quin Snyder era, took the next few minutes to shake hands and hug friends.
