Hogs Play at 1:00 – HOGS WIN WITH HUGE 8th INNING

FAYETTEVILLE Playing each other to open the season could only improve their teams for what lay ahead, Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn and Washington State coach Donnie Marbut predicted back in February.

They predicted correctly. It helped make the Razorbacks and WSU Cougars good enough to meet again in the NCAA Regional postseason. Arkansas and Washington State open the Norman Regional today in Norman, Okla.

Second-seeded Arkansas, 34-22 of the SEC, and third-seeded Pac 10 runner-up Washington State, 31-23, meet at 1 p.m. at OU’s Mitchell Park site of one of 16 four-team double-elimination Regionals starting today.

These 16 Regionals feed into next weekend’s 16 best-of-3 Super Regionals paring it to the Elite Eight playing for national championship at the College World Series in Omaha. [read more]
