Each year at SEC Media Days a select group of media voters compile their predictions for the upcoming season. On Friday, the Arkansas Razorbacks were picked to finish fourth in the West, after being picked sixth last year. Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss were picked top three in the West, with Alabama leading the pack and Ole Miss taking third.
Running back Michael Smith and tight end D.J. Williams were picked first-team All-SEC, and defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard was picked on the second-team defense. While Nick Saban’s Alabama squad was picked to win the West, no one was surprised to see the Florida Gators picked to win the East, getting all 64 votes.
