Petrino has fan in Richt

HOOVER, Ala. – Georgia Coach Mark Richt is among the crowd of coaches who see Arkansas’ potential for making a big move in the second year under Coach Bobby Petrino.

“You know, what he did at Louisville was really phenomenal,” said Richt, whose Bulldogs will be in Fayetteville for Arkansas’ SEC opener Sept. 19. “Since he’s been gone, they’ve struggled mightily. It’s probably not a coincidence that it had to do with him arriving and leaving.”

Petrino compiled a 41-9 record in four seasons at Louisville, and the Cardinals have gone 11-13 in two years under Steve Kragthorpe since Petrino’s departure. [read more]
