The process to interview potential head coaches for the football program at Western Kentucky University has begun.

Arkansas offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Paul Petrino arrived in Bowling Green a little after 6:00 p.m. Saturday to interview for the WKU football head coaching position. He flew in to Bowling Green/Warren County Regional Airport after the Razorbacks’ win over Mississippi State in Little Rock, Ark. on Saturday afternoon.

Petrino then left the airport for an undisclosed location with Alex Downing, a member of WKU’s head coaching search committee. He declined comment when arriving.

Petrino left Bowling Green after WKU associate athletic director/communications Todd Stewart brought him back to Bowling Green/Warren County Regional Airport a little after 10:00 p.m. He again declined comment to reporters at the airport.

Petrino was, however, asked about the job opening after Saturday’s game and while he was complimentary of the program, he didn’t elaborate on his interest in the job opening. [read more]
