Scottsdale Saguaro senior linebacker/defensive end/receiver Brock Haman said he gave a commitment Monday morning to Arkansas.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Haman, who has played part of one game this season because of a shoulder injury, said he had narrowed it to Arkansas, Oregon State and Arizona.

“I just feel Arkansas is the place for me to be,” Haman said in an e-mail. “It’s a great program that I think is on the rise. Nothing like SEC football.”

Haman said he sees the doctor on Wednesday to determine when he can return to the football field.

He missed the first three games, then played only offense two weeks ago against Glendale Cactus, before leaving because he had aggravated the shoulder injury suffered this summer at camp.

Saguaro coach John Sanders was changing his defense this year to suit Haman with his move from linebacker to defensive end.
