Devonta Abron, a 6-8, 225 power forward from Seagoville, has given his verbal commitment to Arkansas. Rivals rates Abron the #21 Power Forward in the 2011 class. Named second-team all-Area by the Morning News last season, he made his commitment soon after visiting North Texas on Sunday night; Abron chose Arkansas over North Texas and Florida International. His other offers include Alabama, Houston, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M.
Abron is the fifth commitment from a Rivals Top 150 player in this Razorback Basketball recruiting class. He joins arguably one of the best recruiting classes this year.
Abron will benefit the Razorbacks in many ways. His frame is ideal, and he embraces overhauling strength that presents mix matches in the post. Not to mention, he has long arms that commend well on both ends of the floor. He can block shots, rebound, intimidate, and jump up and catch the entry pass. His leaping ability presents problems for the defense as well.
Here’s a short one of him dunking on some fool.
