BMFP Is Not Happy

Well, he wasn’t after that horrendous call where Jerry Franklin threw Stephen Garcia to the ground, causing a fumble that we recovered. The ref said Garcia’s forward progress had stopped and called the play dead. Never in my life have I seen a stoppage of forward progress called during a sack. He wasn’t moving forward, he was trying to elude the pass rush. At first I thought they were going to review whether it was a pass or not. Nope. And apparently forward progress can’t be reviewed.

Petrino looked like he was going to rip someone’s face off. Reading lips showed him say “that wasn’t forward progress, he was throwing the ball. How can you look those players in the eye?” He repeated the looking players in the eye repeatedly.

Seems Tyler Wilson’s sack/fumble should have been blown dead for the same reason.

This is the most blatant activist officiating I’ve ever seen. How do they (SEC officials) continue to get away with this?
