Garrick McGee: Tuesday Post Practice Video

by ElvisHog on September 28, 2011

Garrick McGee talked about a few things after practice yesterday. Primarily he talked about the lack of competitive spirit that showed up when reviewing film. “Film don’t lie” was his response to the question as to whether they saw it in the game or only after reviewing film.

Tyler Wilson Passing Against Alabama

He said he’s worked a lot with Tyler Wilson regarding things he needs to clean up in his game. Against our weaker opponents, it was ok to hold the ball until the last second and then lob it up for a receiver to go get. He said that doesn’t work in the SEC. He’s got to make quicker reads and get rid of the ball sooner…and “put some steam on it” so it gets there before the defender has a chance to close on it. Even if the catch is made, the receiver’s ability to make yards after the catch will be diminished.

There was a Twitter buzz before the game when Broderick Green was seen warming up. McGee was asked about his status and said that he’s practicing, but doesn’t know when he’ll crack the lineup. Having more depth in the backfield would be nice. Would be nicer getting Davis back though…
