The Ice Hogs hopes for a third consecutive regular season conference championship were on the line Friday night as they faced Alabama. But the Hogs pulled off a victory, winning 4-2.
The entire Razorback hockey season came down to one game Friday night as the Ice Hogs took on Alabama. It was a make or break for their championship dreams and fans packed the house to see it.
“Well we came from Houston today,” says fan and parent Kathy Miller. “And this team has done so well over the whole season and they’ve got so much support and were here to cheer them on!”
The Hogs entered the game ranked 4th in the south with Alabama ranked third. A hog win Friday night would tie the Arkansas and Alabama and make their matchup Saturday a battle for the SEC West regular season title.
“Oh I’m excited,” another fan says. “I think they are going to win tonight and tomorrow night and we’re going to go to nationals to win that too.”
A two game sweep would earn the Ice Hogs their third consecutive regular season conference championship.
And while fans are anxious to see the Hogs bring home another championship this year coaches and players say they’re up for the challenge.
