Anthony Brown injury

Injured his knee in the scrimmage. Could be gone for the season. Another hit to the thin defensive front.

Might as well start getting London Crawford ready to take his place.

Please explain why you think our defensive front is thin?  It is not undersized or lack numbers anymore.  If anything, Brown going out improves the size we will put on the field.

Wade may be the guy they look to get ready at that point, Robinson figured into playing time this year from what I had heard and read about.

Well we have one, maybe two servicable DE's. Only two proven DT's. That seems pretty thin to me.

Day to day at this point

The majority of our fans probably are happy with their $14,000 per year job, a "good Christian" coaching the hogs, and Hee Haw on Saturday nights.....

Our DE are light.

I guess our DEs are light, if you look at the three deep, when you made that post.  The actual three deep probably looks more like this.

LEFT END
92 Jamaal Anderson, 6-6, 282, JR-2L
94 Chris Wade, 6-6, 255, JR-TR
54 Malcolm Sheppard, 6-2, 250, FR-HS

RIGHT END
91 Anthony Brown, 6-6, 228, SR-1L
97 Antwain Robinson, 6-3, 253, SO-1L
98 Donnell Sanders, 6-3, 225, FR-HS

This reflects Jamaal Anderson's actual size.  Also, Brown is going to be pushed by Antwain Robinson, who is bigger.  We might not play but four ends except in mop up duty, and Shavers could probably play some there.  We have three guys that go 6'6", and one of them is not about Reggie White's size, when he joined the Memphis Showboats.

The average size of our DEs is a third of an inch over 6'4" and 248.8lbs.  If I could find any criticism about our defensive line, it is that we are a little short in stature at DT, but I think we are primed to have the best season for defensive linemen since Wayne Martin.

MRI on Brown's knee was negative, just a strain.  Will be back in a couple days.

That's the trickey thing about knees, there is such a fine line between being off a year vs. a couple weeks. All that added weight on his WR frame probably isn't helping (warning shameless woopig blathering...because I got to bitch about something).
