damn, anyone heard of any damage silver dollar city took?  was planning on taking the kids in a couple of weeks during spring break, but I don't want to go if the aMm's all fricked up.  all i've heard about was the strip and theater district taking damage, this is the first I've heard of damage on the silver dollar city side of town.

after posting, decided to see what teh googles could find, apparently sdc is ok.

Kimberling is equally fucked up. SDC had little damage, if any.

It's been raining cats and dogs in Injun Territory for at least the past 3.5 hours and there is no end in sight.

Go to the NWS Tulsa site, those NOAA fuckers are now saying some could see 15 inches of rain between now and Wed. It's pouring in Fedvul.

Every time I watch the weather, estimates go up.  First it was isolated areas of 8", then 10, then 12, and now fucking 15.  All the projections seem to show Ft. Smith right in the bullseye.  I live downtown.  Drainage is non existent.  Last year there was a time when all you could see was the very to of some of the parking meters.  I'm afraid this one might cover them.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK
339 PM CDT MON MAR 19 2012

.DISCUSSION...
SIGNIFICANT...IF NOT HISTORIC...FLOODING EVENT IS UNDERWAY WITH
THE INITIAL LINE OF STORMS HAVING ALREADY DUMPED 2-4 INCHES OF
RAIN WEST OF THE TULSA AREA. FLOOD WATCH WILL NOW INCLUDE CREEK
COUNTY AS THEY ALREADY ARE NEAR FFG VALUES WITH MORE RAIN TO COME.
CURRENT TRENDS INDICATE THAT THE AXIS OF HEAVIEST RAINFALL SHOULD
REMAIN JUST EAST AND SOUTH OF OSAGE/PAWNEE AND THEY WILL BE LEFT
OUT OF THE WATCH FOR THE TIME BEING.

LARGE AND COMPLEX UPPER LOW CENTERED OVER SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO
THIS AFTERNOON WITH WAY ABOVE NORMAL LEVELS OF PRECIPITABLE WATER
TO WORK WITH. OVERALL THINKING HAS NOT CHANGED A GREAT DEAL FROM
EARLIER FORECASTS REGARDING THE FLOOD POTENTIAL...WITH THE AXIS OF
HEAVIEST RAINFALL THROUGH TUESDAY STILL APPEARING LIKELY TO BE
ACROSS FAR EASTERN OKLAHOMA...JUST TO THE EAST OF THE TULSA AREA. SFC
FRONT WILL MAKE VERY SLOW EASTWARD PROGRESS WITH UPPER WINDS
VIRTUALLY PARALLEL TO IT. APPEARS HEAVIEST RAIN WILL TAKE SOME
TIME TO WORK INTO NW ARKANSAS...POSSIBLY NOT UNTIL TUESDAY. BOTTOM
LINE IS THAT WITH THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE FRONT...THE EXTREMELY
MOIST AIRMASS...AND PERIODIC BOUTS OF UPPER LEVEL ENERGY...RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF SEVERAL INCHES ARE LIKELY IN MUCH OF THE AREA WITH A
FOOT OR MORE IN SOME AREAS...AS ADVERTISED.

Almost like those largely OU grads are proud that it's going to rain that much

Which is great, if you can find the car afterwards.

Tell the OU grads it isn't smart to promise 10-12" and then not deliver.

Lines are forming up in east Oklahoma...but it's all going almost due north. Possible tornado south of Muskogee.

But beads and roman sandals won't be seen.

What's with the OU references?  Do they have a kickass meteorologist program?
