It's actually pretty bland.

During the end of the LSU game, Williams tweeted something that I apparently mistook for criticism of Petrino. I was drunk. I defended my coach. Whatever. Williams responded, I elaborated on my position (that I don't like to see ANY former Hog criticize anything Razorback, much less somebody who left after one year).  Then I realized he might have been talking about somebody other than Petrino, so I apologized if that was the case, and went on my way sobering up.

The next morning, he opened the exchange back up and was just generally dickish. We traded a few tweets and that was that. I don't hope that he gets a knee or anything, but I definitely won't be drafting him on my fantasy team just because he spent not even an entire season as a Hog.
Sometimes we as fans can have a different view of the program (and rightly so) than the players. The "Arkansas experience" definitely left a sour taste in his mouth, to be sure. But in your defense, if you manned up and apologized after explaining yourself, then he should have just taken it for what it was worth. I hold a grudge like no other, but if someone I have beef with tries to straighten things out, then it's water under the bridge.

...as for me and my house, we will call the Hogs.

He had absolutely nothing to do with the victory either.  We were beaten in every phase except the scoreboard.  He was 6-23 for 80 yds & 3 picks.  He threw one int into quadruple coverage, real inaccurate, stupid mistakes all over the place.  QB Killa was in the hizzie.  This just in....  Tiffin, wide right!

You only have to be the best team today.

At one point he threw two interceptions on two consecutive passes, allowing Bama to make three consecutive long clock-gobbling drives (should have been long *scoring* drives but Tiffin misses field goals of 30, 34, and 37 yards).  I think we got about 6 offensive plays in the third and fourth quarters.

*clock-gobbling* (giggle)

Its ironic how all I remembered from that game was the winning pass in Overtime to Cleveland.  (Tiffin had missed the extra point after their TD, so we won on Jeremy whathisname's PAT).

Oh, he did make an absolutely beautiful throw on 3rd and 8 to Damien Williams for the first down.  Dropped like a hot potato.

It doesn't matter whether Casey, Mitchell, or RoJo were at quarterback.  When 90% of your practices are run polish, and 10% are "throw to Peyton in the flat," you aren't going places in the passing game.  Every interview, every coach's show, every press conference, HDN&CO would say the quarterback would start with a few high percentage passes, get his confidence up, get a rhythm going, etc.  Then Saturday would come around again, and the order was opening kickoff, timeout, and run, lose, or draw.

As Cerdo would point out, none of the Arkansas sports "journalists" would call the MSM on their previous comments about developing the passing game.  They would just ask the same questions in lead-up to the next October loss.

I admit to having been very skeptical of DW while he was here, not because of athleticism or attitude, just due to the dropped passes.  You have to give him credit tho, out in Cali he was money.  Glad to see him doing well.

I'd like to add that those of you who parrot the "Beck Campbell is a crazy person who ruined her son's career" line, you are just regurgitating the version of events put out by the BAC at the time, as a CYA move by the Mr. Golden Parachute family.

And that puts you in the same boat as Theresa Prewitt.

GFY....you don't know where I or anyone else get my version of events. I'm well aware of what all went on. Beck handled a lot of things poorly. Not to say I can blame her, but you'll never hear anyone talk about how they are proud of the way she handled tough times. I don't think she ruined her sons career at all, he made his own choices and probably would have been better of if he had listened to her more. But she is still a little bit of a crazy parent and has continued to show that well after Mitch headed to the west coast.

Easy there.  You said you don't think she's to blame for ruining his career,  then I probably wasn't talking about you.

Harping on how Beck handled things as if it was as much to blame for Mitch's leaving Arkansas as the fucko in charge is what I'm talking about.

The whole "Mr. Golden Parachute sucked, but Beck was crazy and Mitch needed to grow the frick up" is what I'm talking about.  As if an 18 year old kid is supposed to just know how to handle the kind of messed-up aMm that went on at Arkansas in 2006.

If anything, his mother being quote/unquote "over-involved" was just a sideshow to the real circus act.

That wasn't a hateful GFY, more of an eye-roller at your whole "I know what really went on and none of you guys do" bit, that was mostly unprompted.

I believe she reacted to protect her son which was prolly out of guilt from her divorce from Mitch's father. All understandable. A lot of women would act similarly if the baby was being treated unfairly by a douche. She is guilty of over parenting from what I can see but I do not have all the facts so I will find a screen door!

No, that really isn't what I said at all.  You sure got defensive quickly as though I targeted you, though.

So you think you know what really went on and nobody else does...

So you agree that there was justification for what the Posse did?  Was it a good and measured response to a crazy helicopter parent?

That's what I'm talking about.

Had I been Mitch's father, I would have been shouting from the hilltops to anyone that would listen that my kid was being screwed with by the coaching staff at the University of Arkansas if it were true.  With Rick Schaeffer actually drawing a handsome salary from the Springdale school district while going on the radio and participating in the character assassination of my kid, simply to protect his own hero and buddy Nutt - I would have been marching up to DTS and personally threatening to beat that ass to a pulp.

I would have made sure everyone person in America was aware that my son's coach had a wife that was throwing threats of violence out to me and I would have used a lawyer to make sure that the Nutt brothers couldn't continue to hide information on their computers showing that they conspired to frick with my kid.

Beck Campbell got screwed by the lackey media in this state and the masses just plowed along like pigs in slop.   Call me crazy if you wish, but if there were people in this state getting paid handsomely to bash my kid on the radio and in media all day long, there would have been some ass whippings involved.

A lot of folks in Arkansas talk out of both sides out of their mouths on "live and let live" and "forgetting stuff".  People want Beck and Nolan and other people in this state who have been screwed to just keep quiet and say "aw shucks" and move on while 75% of you still obsessively follow the career of an idiotic Head Coach who did a shitty job at a school a lot of you never attended.  Pot.  Kettle.
