I agree it is probably a good move for Lunney.  Yes, it is Illinois, but it is still a Big 10 OC position. It will help him in the long run, even if Bert is canned in 3 or 4 years.

I seem to remember that there were a couple of coaches that got sacked after losing to us in football back in 2020. No SEC coaches, mind you, but the humiliation of losing to poor little Arkiesaw after we had won like 6 games in 3 seasons was too much for some of our opposition.

I think you are thinking of GA Southern.  It was actually a week after they played us and I think this had more to do with it than losing to Arkansas.
