Little Rock Rangers SC, Central Arkansas's new entry into the NPSL, begins play at War Memorial Stadium in April.

As a soccer fan, I'm hoping they succeed. However, based on the history of minor-league sports in Little Rock (with the exception of the Travelers), I'm not holding my breath.

No promotion/relegation. However, they could qualify for the US Open Cup, where they might play an MLS team if the Rangers made it far enough in the tournament.

2. I see they are a 501(c)3. What's up with that? Is it because they know they won't make any money so they might has well let their benefactors deduct part of what they pay for gear?

"The number "16" represents the year that we started play in the NPSL and it also represents the sixteen founders of our club."

Those home jerseys are really good, better than most MLS shirts. That may just be because they don't have some obnoxious sponsor logo across the front(which I'm sure they'd add in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose).

Doh! I guess it just didn't jump out at me, its much more subtle than "Bimbo" or "Xbox". I think its a good thing, but if I was the sponsor I may feel differently.

First game is tonight at WMS against Memphis City FC at 7:00. Paper said they'll have food trucks outside and will sell Blue Canoe beer inside.

My son has soccer practice in Bryant early this evening, but we may go to the game afterward.

Might be my second weekend in a row to visit WMS. I took my older boys to Nitro Circus last weekend.

Solid efforting. Hoping that sort of deal gains some traction. I'm not a huge soccer guy, but I'd go to a few games if they can keep stuff like that going.

Unfortunately, we were in Bryant later than I anticipated and didn't make it. Looked like a good crowd and they won 2-1. We'll definitely be at a later game.
