No promotion/relegation.

However, the Rangers could qualify for next season's US Open Cup. 18 NPSL teams, including FC Wichita and Tulsa Athletic, qualified for this season's US Open Cup.

The Rangers gave up a goal with about 10 minutes left and lost 1-0 to Tulsa Athletic to bring an end to their 2017 season.

What happened to the friendly with Memphis City? I thought this would be an annual event. Is Memphis City still around? They aren't listed on the NPSL website. The Memphis City website is still running but has not been updated. I see where Memphis will have a USL team at AutoZone but that team won't play until 2019.

Involvement with the USL expansion is my guess.

Memphis has been granted a USL club for the 2019 season. Not sure how that affects the Memphis City club from the NPSL, but I did notice on its Facebook page that there was a post back in October that said "BIG" news was coming for 2018. No later post ever said what the "BIG" news was, but I'm assuming that a move to the USL would be such news. The article below is from last November.

The season opener is Saturday night at WMS against Shreveport.

This season features free parking, food trucks inside the stadium, more beer selections, and more.

That was the first game I'd been to this season. Was a pretty good game, although the Rangers definitely need some help in defense. All three of St. Louis's goals came from the right side of the Rangers' defense, and this was the second time this season they've lost a conference game by giving up a really late goal (they lost 2-1 to Wichita by giving up a goal in second-half stoppage time). The Rangers looked really good in the attack, though, with some good build-up play, timely long balls, and pretty good wing play. St. Louis's keeper made a few nice saves, and the Rangers sometimes had trouble getting that last pass into the box to get in a good position to score. They also had quite a few corner kicks that they could've done better with.

I went to the first game. For some reason, the team didn't look as good as last year's team to me.

I think there was a lot of roster turnover from last season, and I think they made some changes/additions to the team after those first few games this year.

They're 2-3 so far in conference games this season, after playing their first four conference games on the road.

I didn’t make it out tonight, but the Rangers beat Ozarks FC 2-1 to move to 3-3 in conference play. Three of their four remaining games will be at WMS.

The Rangers beat Ozark FC 1-0 tonight in Springdale to move to 5-3.

They have two regular-season games left, both at home. They play Wichita next Saturday night and Tulsa on July 7.

First-place Wichita comes to WMS for a game tomorrow night at 7:30 (the women play earlier at 5:00 ). The Rangers played Wichita tough on the road earlier this season, losing 2-1 on a goal in second-half stoppage time.

Here are the standings with two games left. The top four spots (the playoff spots) are already wrapped up, as the Demize and Ozark FC can no longer finish in the top four. Wichita only needs one point from their last two games to clinch first place. The Rangers, Tulsa, and St. Louis are basically battling it out for the 2-4 spots. Finishing second would mean a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

The Rangers were clearly the better team Saturday night. They’ve come a long way since that first game.

Wichita wasn’t the power team it usually is. I think #70 for Wichita was actually 70 years old.

I was thinking the same thing about Wichita. That didn't look like a team that started 7-0, but maybe the Rangers were just THAT good Saturday night. They did dominate play for most of the game, but came close to allowing a late goal again.
