The NCAA hit Louisville pretty hard yesterday after finding their basketball program guilty of providing impermissible benefits, in the form of strippers and prostitutes, to players and recruits between 2010 and 2014.  Louisville will have to vacate all games in which ineligible players participated, which may include the 2013 national title game.

NCAA case has Louisville making wrong kind of history - and likely vacating national title

Bobby should be safe at Louisville for a long time....

It is also the first time in an NCAA decision that a university had the gall to argue that its penalties be downgraded because the hookers were not very expensive. Louisville contended that the alleged $5,400 McGee spent on escorts for recruits and active players between December 2010 and July 2014—money that constituted impermissible benefits, and thus made those players ineligible at Louisville—was not a significant sum.

How much was it we took a hit for overpayment of work all those years ago? IIRC it was miniscule compared to things colleges are doing nowadays.

You can give them drugs, hookers, grades... just don't pay them too much to work a job.

It was a travesty but we did it to ourselves by not giving the NCAA copies of paperwork the NCAA misplaced. We sat on the requests for a long time. Then they got pissed.

All in all, shouldn't have been an investigation anyway for that offense. They were trying to find more.
