Before Feel The Rhythm was Bobby Petrino Doesn't Give a Fuck What You Think About the suchandsuch Game, and before that it was the Mike Nail Approved Companion to the suchandsuch Game.

I started doing recaps for Arkansas Fight in 2012, but I started doing them on Woopig in 2006. I was 24 years old. I turn 36 tomorrow. A lot of life happens between 24 and 36. My Sunday mornings look a lot different now. It's harder to write than it used to be. Maybe it's because the product is harder to write about...hopefully because what I'm writing at 36 is better than what I was writing at 24. Probably some of both.

Every year for the last three years or so has been my last. I always cave because I love writing. Writing about the Razorbacks grants me an audience, and I'm thankful for that, but it's not my favorite subject to write about. Just one of many that I love. So we'll see about next year. Right now I'd say that this season would close the books, but who knows.

Thanks for everyone who read this year and have read over the years. It's a great outlet for me that I would not have stuck with had I not gotten the feedback from people that it was something worth their time. I appreciate all of you.

I'll see y'all next week.

You spin a great story even in a post.  Your work is much appreciated.

It’s like when I comment on pornhub:  I’m passionate about midget porn, so those comments just flow. I don’t like BBW, but if they’re putting in a good effort you can comment easily enough. But when some fat fuck doesn’t even act like they want to be there, it’s just a chore to write about.

You've always done great. I didn't care when we scored on Saturday, and felt zilch when they beat us. My only thoughts were "Trent's gonna have a good write up on this tomorrow."

I have no idea who you are but thanks for the commentary all these years fellow Hog sufferer.  As shoeless Joe said to Archie when he left the field towards the end in Field of Dreams (if in fact this is the end) "You were good."

Now, go fuck yourself. :tiw:

Also, did raisinsnacks find Jesus and have to quit the Woopig?  That's what I always figure when people leave.  Fortunately, my Jesus sings lead in Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job

I always look forward to them and loved the dgaf threads. I enjoyed them after games like beating GA in Athens and even the loses when we were in BCS games.

If I had it to do all over again, I’d probably go a route that got me more formal instruction and a path toward a job where you can write and make a decent living. I think the sun has set as far as monetizing it into a 9 to 5. I think it would be really cool to publish a book or collection of short stories. It’s on my bucket list. Until then, I’ll tell stories on Facebook.  :D

Apologies if I'm prying into your personal shit, but you request clicks on your links, which I do every time.  Is that because you're getting paid for the "new" clicks?

I'm asking because is it possible to just do some sort of free lance blog on your own with a paypal link in the peripheral?  You're content is worth an easy 5 spot from me every week.  Can you pull in another couple grand every fall doing that?  Is it worth it to you?

Thanks for all you've done for this shithole.  I may or may not have stepped out of church on Sunday mornin' with my wifes smart phone looking to Feel The Rhythm.

Trent, your recap has become part of my Sunday routine during football season. As with any worthy endeavor, life evolves and fatigue sometimes sets in. If in fact this is the last one, then congrats on saving the best one for last, though I selfishly hope you’ll keep it going.  I’ll raise my bottle of Tito’s to you either way.

Not prying at all. I don’t make a dime off of Feel The Rhythm. I’m just a good worker bee. Vox Media makes the money, and distributes it down the chain. I would assume the managing editor at AF gets something, but I doubt it’s much. Deadspin actually did an expose on how SB Nation (the sports arm of Vox, of which AF is a part.) a couple of months ago highlighting how the payout structure is built where a few make very much on the work of the many who get nothing. But you know that when you get into it. I don’t feel used.

I tried doing a sports blog a few years ago. I just don’t have the time or drive to produce content on the level required to draw a following. The guys who make it hustle their asses off AND can write. They’re writing, tweeting, doing podcasts, consuming sports nonstop. I love sports, and I’m not sure I like sports THAT much.

As to your idea of a blog with a paypal link, I’ve never considered that. I read the other day where the private subscription model is supposedly the newest model that sports media types are attempting. Your idea would be kind of like that on a micro-level. Might be worth considering.

ETA: I kind of nerd out on this stuff, so allow me to cool story, bro and tl:dr myself.

Trent....I know you. You have a great talent and should use it. Your recaps of the game are the best I have read anywhere. I also love the stories about your son on Facebook. I always have my wife read them and we both laugh. I know it will be a little harder as life goes on, but I really hope you continue these. You have a way with words that few people have. Either way, it has been a great ride.

Trent thanks for the contributions each week.  I know they take time and much effort, and its appreciated.  I know once it becomes a grind its harder to catch the muse each week.  What more can one say about this insipid pile of shot called our program?

I for one would hope that if we get a new coach you would continue.  If we are stuck with the Big Bowl of Gravy another season, well its just another set of reruns.

Many of us like your writing, so if you have other musings you deem appropriate for this crew, please start a thread  and post them up.

Again, simple, selfish me says please don’t go.

Grown up rational me isn’t much better, but I understand.  There are a handful of people who post/posted here that have a way with words, a mastery of the language, yet it’s so good it seems dirty calling it a mastery.  It’s more like an exquisite dance with words.

My passion for the Hogs has waned, but reading your Sunday morning offererings has kept me attached in a very macabre way.  Your writings are truthful, harsh, real, and most importantly, funny as fuck.  If I never read another one, I thank you for what you have done.

*also, I’d like to thank you for innerdooshing me to Tito’s.  I’ve always loved Bob Marley, but the vodka is better than advertised.
