The way they handled this was the most encouraging move from the hill throughout this mess so far.  Eased my mind about what’s next a liiiiitle.  It at least LOOKS like they thought this out.

Don't bring in the mediocre, fake ass Gus Malzahn and everything will be okay.

They also announced a 7:30 presser.

And they told him when he was walking off the field.

How exactly are they suppose to "handle it"?

It's not like they made a mockery out of the situation, to my knowledge.  It's not a fun position to be in for either side.

David St. Hubbins: We say, "Love your brother." We don't say it really, but...
Nigel:We don't literally say it.
David St. Hubbins: No, we don't say it.
Nigel: We don't really, literally mean it.

Fine, I'll say something nice: thanks for the Florida win. Glad to get that off our back.

They waited until the end of the final game, unlike some schools. How better to "handle it"?

The room looked like the site of some horrible zoological experiment involving whiskey and gorillas....

Fuckem. Those are the same people who were happy that football was fun again and liked Bret because he was so friendly and approachable. These social media morans probably  never had to make a hard decision in their lives, except what toppings they wanted on their pizza.

There will always be critics, I try to be positive.

I'm positive that I'm glad he has been fired and a new coach will be hired that will have to win quickly.

A fucking for the AGES. Gutless motherfuckers every one of them, from the replay man to the entire officials crew.  May the faggot, cowardly bastards rot in hell.  Gutless fucking pussies.

I think I like this Ms Peoples as AD.

No pussy footing around, cutting the balls straight off.

No shit.  That was a decisive move.  I'd take Acting off her title and give her a one year contract.

Well, if true that they told him on way off field, that could be a little better done.  At least go back to the office or tell him before the game, "Coach go out the way you want today, but we are moving on after."

There were probably two scenarios.

A: Hogs win and his firing is announced tomorrow. How do you fire him right after a win?
B: Hogs lose and he's fired immediately. And I mean immediately.

PTB chose option B.

You pick the one right tool.

He said they went into a small office just off the field.  They wanted him to have the option of meeting with his players before they left for the weekend and meeting the press.

She has the resume for it.  We could do a whole lot worse.

I’m of the opinion that, once you’ve decided to fire someone, you do it as soon as you can without jeopardizing your own organization.  If it was me in the position of being fired I’d rather know immediately than twist in the wind for anywhere from 12 hours to 2-3 days.

We can sugar coat it however we want, but it was tacky and UA will get hammered for it until the news cycle turns over.

I get the intent, but it's still tacky.
Props to Bielema for handling it well and addressing the media and remaining about as classy as an outgoing coach could be.

These coaching searches are never easy as a fan, because it exposes the program and everyone feels the need to do an autopsy and give their opinions on how or what or why something happened and what or where or whom should be the answer or direction that it goes.
Lots of talk until a new coach is hired.

For my sanity, I try to not take it personal.
Hopefully we get a good coach soon and can inject some enthusiasm back into this thing.

I’ve never experienced anyone working at CFA being a jerk or rude but yesterday I encountered a guy in the drive thru who was not only rude but a jerk. When I finally had my order and he didn’t even say my pleasure I yelled “thanks for being a jerk” and drove off.
