I haven't seen Terry Bowden in a while.  I'd say he's put on a little holiday weight.

actually I think he's lost some but he's still a little hefty

Geez what a fuckin beatdown.

This is going to be a great 4 years and possibly 8.  The amount of butthurt from the left is already at glorious levels.

Yes they will.  I envision them popping up kind of like Oregon did about 10-12 years ago.

I wouldn't get that excited.

Frisco Bowl--SMU looks like a team that hasn't had a coach for 13 days.  Little rough start.  Courtland Sutton is a beast.

LA Tech is my second team (have family ties and grew up there) behind Arkansas. But, SMU looking good will reflect well on our current HC.

So far we're going to need another barometer of success.

They are basically being coached by GA's, Skip Holtz and some left behinds.   :haironfire: :haironfire: :haironfire: :haironfire: :haironfire: :haironfire: :haironfire:

Holy sheet. I thought it would be a fairly even matchup but this is ridiculous. SMU's QB is a pick-six machine.

And how many of their players are transferring to the UofA?

Teams sometimes just don't give a shit about the bowl game when their coach leaves them. They looked like we did after Nutt left and Herring was interim coach. In a way, that favors the likelihood that the coach was a huge reason for their season's success more than the quality of his players.   :hollah:

So we made a bowl game in 2007 because Nutt called lots of plays?

I think we actually underachieved that year didn't we? I guess that wasn't a very good analogy.

It was a pretty good analogy.  We lost the head coach, and most of our assistants were heading to Ole Miss to join him after the Cotton Bowl.  As I recall, I think those guys spent more time in December packing up and recruiting for Ole Miss than they did actually getting ready for the bowl.  Many of our superstars (McFadden and Jones, especially) already had one foot in the NFL and were probably just trying to keep from getting a career-ending injury in a meaningless game.  Plus, we called the same fake punt play two plays in a row.  I mean, c'mon.

And those choads on Tigerboard still crow about that win like they actually did something.

We also lost to Kentucky at home 42-29 that year too.

That season was the epitome of the Nutt years.  We had pretty much everybody returning off a team that had won 10 games the year before, and we went out and decidedly underperformed to the tune of an 8-win season.
