OMGSaban: Is the Top Gun of Football
« on: January 09, 2018, 05:58:10 PM »
In 8 years at Bama he has never lost by more than two scores.

In 8 years at bama he has been shut out at the half twice.

In 12 years as a HC every player he has recruited that stayed for 4 years has won a NC.

Pretty clear, he's the best of all time.

It’s insane, he’s pulling some John Wooden shit off right now. It’s impressive and everything but I’ve had enough.

At what point do you consider your point made and hang up your hat?  There's nothing else to prove.  Fuck, man.  Go out on top.

In the last 9 years he is 5-4.

Not in bowls, but winning national titles.

One more title and he's on top.

How would Saban be doing if he was coaching at Vanderbilt?  Probably not the same results as he has had at Bama, but probably better than Vandy has been.

So how many national championships would the Hogs have with him at the helm for the last ten years in Fayetteville?

When you consider how much more difficult, complex and competitive the game is now than back in the days where anyone who might be listed as a challenger coached, it’s not even a discussion.

Saban was already the greatest of all time before this game ever started.

This next post was made by a real dumbass.

We should root for Alabama to win one more so he'll fucking retire already.

On one of the ESPN sports shows this afternoon, I believe PTI, they asked who was a better coach?  Belichick as a Pro coach or Saban as a college coach?

Definitely both at the top of their games.

Unbeliveably, they were both on the same staff at Cleveland in '94 and finished 11-5.

He strikes me as a guy whose entire life is coaching football and won’t retire unless health reasons arise.  I hope to hell like I’m wrong or he eats too much bacon and drinks heavily.

He has the advantage of not having to recruit very hard. All the 5 stars want to go there so all he has to do is cull what he doesn't want. Makes a big difference.

The room looked like the site of some horrible zoological experiment involving whiskey and gorillas....

It's worse he's so fucking OCD or whatever it is that he has the same food every day. An oatmeal pie for breakfast and a turkey salad for lunch. He probably doesn't even enjoy food he just uses it as fuel so he can work more.

I think this is a misnomer. EVERY recruit he goes after can go to any school he wants. When he is competing for a kid he is always competing against the top schools in the country and most of the time he is trying to get that kid to travel farther to go to his school than the school he is competing with. Look at Tua, that kid should be at USC but somehow Saban gets him to fly half way around the world to come play at Alabama, and he's not even known for his QB's.

At this point recruiting is just a matter of picking who they want and saying, "sign here".

Definitely this.  Not that he isn't a great coach.
