It's the year of the tank.
Every single division has 1-2 teams that are historically awful or outright tanking this season.

Nats should run away with East and the humidor is going to lead to water-logged balls in Arizona. WC probably comes out of West and Central, though.
NL
Cubs
Cards
Dodgers
Nats
Rockies

AL
Astros (how in the world did you forget the defending champs, Nola?)
Indians
Red Sox
Twins
Yankees

WS
Yankees over Nats

I’ve never experienced anyone working at CFA being a jerk or rude but yesterday I encountered a guy in the drive thru who was not only rude but a jerk. When I finally had my order and he didn’t even say my pleasure I yelled “thanks for being a jerk” and drove off.

For my Tigers, I like the Garderhire hire but we’re gonna be bad. Really bad.

Derp.  My coffee had not kicked in yet.  I edited for them to win the West and the Angels taking the WC over the ChiSox.

Too bad y'all can't give more specifics so that I didn't have to go look up the scores and figure out who did what and if your posts were related. Crushed indeed.

So the best player ever has been battling through injuries the last few years, and because of that, his stats are slipping.

.305 avg
.386 obp (124th all time)
614 HR (7th all time)
619 DB (12th all time)
1,918 RBI (10th all time)
1,251 BB (53rd all time)

.947 OPS

3 MVP awards, but 7 without Barroid.

Pitchers wearing single-digit numbers troubles my senses.  Just flipped over to the Cards game and their pitcher (Weaver) is #7.  Is this really going to become a thing?  I'm vexed, but not yet flummoxed.

Thankfully the Cards underpaid for his best years and the Angels saved them a big pile of money.

hard for any first baseman ever to overcome how valuable Willie Mays was in a lot higher value defensive position

Thankfully the Mets 3rd starter isn't nearly as good as the first 2

What did he do?

Used about 50 pitchers in three games.  Also went to the mound to make a pitching change yesterday without bothering to have anyone warm up in the bullpen.

Friday he pulled the corndog Nola after 68 pitches with a 5-0 lead.  All weekend he made multiple pitching changes for platoon matchups as if he were managing game seven of a playoff series.  Complete shitshow.  He overmanaged a la LaRussa or Cox, but based on analytics.

Braves won 2 out of 3, and would've won all three if Peter Bourjos had dropped his foot about a half inch as he slid into home on what should've been a sac fly for the winning run.  In fact he was called safe, but the replay correctly showed that his foot was above the plate while the Phillies' catcher tagged him on the back.

The Astros won last night in a bizarre walk off. 2 outs, bottom of the 10th. Derek Fisher (the other one) was on 2nd as a pinch runner. Alex Bergman hit a towering infield pop up. Fisher was hauling ass from the swing. First baseman Eric Hosmer tracked the ball in towards home plate. He threw his hands up in desperation as the ball landed behind him not 10 feet in front of home plate just as Fisher crossed for the plate. Game over. 1-0 in 10.
