NHL Playoffs
« on: April 14, 2018, 12:16:25 AM »
Now I’m not a hockey fan, but I’m watching this Vegas vs LA game that’s in OT and its entertaining as shit. If I had a rooting interest in either team I’d be nervous as hell

Of course, not technically a shootout.   :deek:  They only do those in the regular season.

Glad to see this thread here.  I thought about starting one at the beginning but figured it would be crickets.

Looks like Washington may finally break their first round jinx.  Hoping my Bruins can make a run but the East is so loaded.  Pittsburgh won't give up their back-to-back title defense easily.  Philly wasn't a real challenge but the Pens are peaking.

Winnipeg is looking really sharp out West so I wouldn't be surprised to see them end the Vegas dream season.  Nashville will lean on its SC Finals experience from a year ago. And San Jose looks to have it together.

Right now, if forced, I'd pick Winnipeg and Tampa in the Finals with the Lightning hoisting the hardware. They held off a furious Boston push to keep home ice advantage, and I don't think they'll waste it.

I'll hop back into it for round 2, but I'm still a fucking bitter blues fan.
May catch this Bruins-Leafs game 7 tomorrow night

I’ve never experienced anyone working at CFA being a jerk or rude but yesterday I encountered a guy in the drive thru who was not only rude but a jerk. When I finally had my order and he didn’t even say my pleasure I yelled “thanks for being a jerk” and drove off.

Winnipeg currently laying their balls on Nashville's chin.  3-0 after 2 in Nashvegas.  Telling you, they are gonna be a very tough out.

I've come from barely knowing what hockey is, to going to games, to watching the Blues regularly, to watching the playoffs on a Saturday night.

You've come a long way, baby.

Seeing the Penisguins getting hosed on a no-goal call is the NHL white whale equivalent of an Alabama holding penalty.

Big win for the Preds.  Had to have that one.

Further proof that this sport is the most exciting of all of them.

Well damn.  Stick a fork in us.

Even though I picked Tampa, I don't like it.

I haven't been to that many games, but I tell everyone that NHL hockey is the most exciting sporting event to see live.  The action is (almost) nonstop and they get up and down the ice so fast. Lots of fun.

Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fellow says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace - and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

It is unreal and tv can not do it justice to the size of the players and the speed of the game.
Let’s go Preds!

Undoubtedly the best game there is to watch live. As it becomes more and more natural to me, I also like watching it on TV more. I've watched a lot of the playoffs so far.

What's up with the Bruins player, Brad Marchand, who licks opposing players. That's right --  licks. He's been warned by the league to knock it off or face penalties. WTF?

He also kissed a guy on the cheek this season.

You know the old saying.  He's a weird little shit, but he's our weird little shit.

Actually, he's the type who tries so hard to get in other guys' heads so much that it can get him off his game.  That happened in the Tampa series.  They have some grizzled veterans who wouldn't let that bother them for a second.
