2-1 after 4. Our 2 were unearned.

Wow.  37-14 overall yet only 7th in the conference tournament.  They went 25-2 in non-conference.

Speaking of, every team finished above .500 overall.  Only Mizzou (22-10) lost as many as 10 noncon games.   The other 13 teams averaged THREE.  Unbelievable.

Yep, if this lead holds it will totally vindicate Stoernover and Fish Fingers.

Huge get there by the freshman.

Kentucky slugger (who hit one out earlier) popped up with two outs and the bases loaded.

Still 2-1 going to B6.

Another gift from the Jellycats.  Two outs, runner on second, routine grounder to short.  She threw it about a third of the way down the line (toward home).

Third unearned run of the game for us.  Big insurance there.

Wild pitch followed, but then a soft grounder back to the mound for the third out.

8-9-1 coming up for UK in the 7th.

I have read - perhaps here - that the most dominant  conference by sport and gender is SEC softball.

Leadoff double.

Next batter goes to a 1-2 count, and....

The SEC Network decides to go to a commercial.   WHAT THE FUCK?

And they can't seem to get it back.  Now about 4 or 5 minutes into this "break."

Lincoln's Gettysburg address was shorter than this commercial break.  The game may literally be over by now.

From the SECSports site...

Humes, A doubled to left field (2-0).
Baalman, G grounded out to 3b (2-2); Humes, A advanced to third.
Schaper, J popped up to 3b (1-2).
Reed, K walked (3-2).

Guessing maybe there's a pitching change now.

No.  But it's over.   Judas.  3-1 final.

Reed, K out at first c to 2b to 1b, caught stealing.

Why would you try to steal - or try a double steal - down two runs with two outs?

Oh well, good win.

Didn't see it (obviously) so I just assumed it was a straight steal to get the tying run to second. Our girl was throwing a lot of off speed stuff.

BTW, that's the first win for the softball team in the SEC Tourney since 2001.  At least, that's what I read online.

The announcers were saying 1st win in 17 years. Math tells me that you are correct about what you read.

Had a feeling that might be the case.  Mine is DIRECTV.   I was watching on my phone so it could've been just the app and might've been fine on TV.

That's actually the better point, but if it was a double steal its mind-boggling stupid.

So KY's second best hit of the day was by an Arkansas girl.  Who is a pitcher.  Who transferred from Harding.

Maybe KY needs to recruit some more hitters   ???

Congrats to Mary Haff and the Ladybacks.  Haff is the best freshman we've had here, and the Ladybacks seem to really care about promoting softball in Arkansas.
