I don't even think there was a bump in recruiting before A&M joint the SEC.

Yr -   TX/Enrolles/pct
2006 - 7/25 - 28%
2007 - 7/36 - 20%
2008 - 4/29 - 14%
2009  - 10/42 - 23%     We start playing in Jerry World
2010 - 5/37 - 14%
2011 - 5/33  - 15%   A&M joins SEC   /  Baylor wins 11 games
2012 - 6/26 - 23%
2013 - 8/36 - 22%   We Hire Bert, DEC 12'
2014 - 2/26 - 8%
2015 - 4/25 - 16%
2016 - 4/22 - 18%
2017 - 3/24 - 13%
2018 - 5/17 -29%    Morris

Good stuff, thanks. I can’t believe there was a year where we only got two texas kids.

didnt they already pull this with Brad paisley and it turned out horrible
Yes.  We lost to a shitty team and then got to take it out on Brad Paisley.  So the night wasn't a complete loss.

2019 will be a great year to buy season tickets in Fayetteville:

Portland State
Colorado State
San Jose State
Western Kentucky
Auburn
Mississippi State

Is that for real?  :wha?:

Would you rather home and home with A&M?  With the student population from North Texas exploding in Fayetteville, and the recruiting goldmine that is this area, I think the JerryWorld game is very important.  WMS is a shithole; AT&T is a palace.  Bret didnt understand Texas but Chad Morris does.

I'd rather play a conference game home and home, yes.  Any day.  I'm not necessarily against playing an annual game in the DFW Metroplex, but I'd prefer it be a non-conference game.

That's exactly what we need...play Baylor, Tech, or another former lower-tier SWC school there every year.  Or maybe Okie State.

This is how the Southwest Classic was originally intended before North Mexico became part of the SEC footprint.

Why don't you schedule a game with Rice there, then.
See how that goes.

It should be treated like the Florida-Georgia game of the SEC west.
Plenty of history and tradition to carry that torch, too.

Shouldn't be playing SEC games in LR any more, but if you're going to play one, make it that shitty Mizzou game.

I’ve never experienced anyone working at CFA being a jerk or rude but yesterday I encountered a guy in the drive thru who was not only rude but a jerk. When I finally had my order and he didn’t even say my pleasure I yelled “thanks for being a jerk” and drove off.

While there is a long history and tradition of playing A&M, none of it involved Dallas until the last 7-8 years.  Florida and Georgia have, with a couple of exceptions, been playing in Jacksonville since the 1930s.

I understand people don't like WMS and don't like playing there, and I also can understand all of the arguments for playing all games in Fayetteville.  That said, I'd rather play all conference games at least in the state of Arkansas, whether in Fayetteville or Little Rock.

I think the idea of playing Oklahoma State in Dallas every season sounds really good.  Or even Tech or Baylor.  All of those are old rivals that we have history with.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said.  Anyone with any common sense realizes that I was talking about a school that can bring more than 1000 fans to a game.

I agree with you 100% on your last sentence.  Missouri is the one SEC school for which Little Rock is a longer road trip.  Inconvenience those yankee bastards as much as possible.

Correct, but both schools separately have long histories with the north Texas area.
It fits.

I understand why a lot of people don't like it, but it's a neat event and they do a pretty good job with it.

Fans.  No one is flying from Roosterfart, Missouri to Little Rock.

When we play the Mississippi schools or LSU in LR, they usually bring close to a full allotment of 8,000 fans.  Missouri will likely bring a quarter of that at most.

Well for almost all of them we had a fat blob of a coach that looked like he spent the night inside a moose.  He also didn’t have a clue as to where Texas fucking was.

We should play the first game of the season in LR and the opponent should be ASU or a rotation between ASU and UCA. A&M should move to a home and home and Dallas should be someone like Oklahoma State. I have always thought they would be a great non-con opponent for us. Unfortunately, they would have been kicking our asses for the last 5 or 6 years.

How in the world is it faster to bus from campus to Bumfuck boondocks airport NWA, load up, fly to Little Rock, bus up, and bus to WMS?

Vs. bus from campus to WMS?

It cannot possibly save time.

Unless something has changed, they fly out of Drake Field. < 5 miles from campus.

They fly out of Drake, don't they?

Irregardless, you're talking about a 3 1/2 - 4 hour bus ride.
That flight probably takes a half hour. Damn right it still saves time.

When this series was set up A&M was in the other league and was part of Jerry’s package of intersectional games.  I am all for moving A&M to H&H as long as WMS is not part of the discussion, and we keep our place in Jerryworld with a new intersectional  series like Texas, Tech or OSU.

I don’t like this mizzou setup but if you’re going to put all your turds in one pisstrough this is it.

Yes Drake would shave 1-1.5 hours off.

Still, I used to drive Van Buren-WLR in 2 hours, surely with the new highway and a LR police escort, Fayetteville-WMS is no more than 3.

The only positives I see from this deal is the escape clause that has a very high chance of being exercised, and the fact that WMS is barely better than the Missouri Stadium, so those Columbian boys will get a chance to see something nicer every other year.

Playing the Red/White game in WMS is definitely not something the players want.  Many of them are playing for a scholarship, so that's one more distraction.

If we are going to be force fed this, the game should be moved to the first available playing date, so that Coach Morris and the team can treat it like an away game (because technically it is), to get it out of the way that the normal routine for a home game is changed by going on the road.  Playing it on the last playing date achieves very little.  In fact, we would be better off playing ASU for there to actually be in any state spark.  Although we've yet to beat Missouri since they've joined the SEC, we are in a lose-lose situation with the Bowl committees by playing Missouri at this time.  If we beat them 40, the Bowl Committee says "so what, it's Misery."  If we lose, it's the ASU thing all over.  I'm sure Missouri thinks the same thing.

The hell with playing Okie State or Tech at JerryWorld. Play TCU just for the coed hotness factor alone.

Buses are not making the same time that you can in your car.

Fuck ASU.  We may not like Mizzou in the SEC, but they are the SEC. There will never be a reason for us to play Jonesboro.  They will never be at an Iowa State or even a Miss State level.
