If he gets drafted, I don't think he's going to be too disappointed. There are only so many amateur players picked by NBA teams in the draft. It ain't an easy thing to do. Doesn't matter where you're drafted as long as you work hard at getting better. A little bit different scenario, but everyone remembers the year that Jordan was drafted...in the number 2 spot. Behind Sam Bowie.

Yeah, but as I understand it there is no guaranteed money past the first round. Unlike the overall no. 2.

don't think thats true. 2nd rounders can get guaranteed contracts. pretty sure both joe and gafford got them.

edit: woj says the thunder want him at #34.

I may have misunderstood what they said at the end of that show, but I sure thought they said that. Maybe it just means it doesn’t have to be guaranteed in the second round, but can be.

yes, they can get them, but it's not guaranteed. all comes down to the agent.

Jordan was drafted #3. Houston already had Drexler, so they went with Olajuwon in the 2 spot.

so checking the contracts of the last two guys picked at 34. #34 last year went overseas but #35 got $5.3 million, all guaranteed, on a 3 year deal with two of them guaranteed. in 2020 that pick got the same 3 year with two guaranteed, and $4 million guaranteed.

jwill should be in that ballpark if his agent is worth a shit.

OKC also has 3 lottery picks to sign as well with Holgrem, Dieng, and the other Jalen Williams. The only good thing about him ending up in OKC is that it’s close to Fort Smith.

The way I understood it...Umude signed a 2 way deal already but that might not mean much this time of the year. I get the feeling nobody knows what to do with Notae...he isn't a lead guard and will get eaten up by 2 guards in the NBA. He needs a lot of work. The comparison was Nick Van Exel but Nick was far further along as a ball handler.

If Umude can continue to improve his defense he will find a spot in the league. His ceiling could be a PJ Tucker type role.

Agree on Notae. His an elite defender and has a god given ability to score. He has to improve his 3 pt % and his handle. Kid seems to have the work ethic. He'll make good money playing ball somewhere.
