Yes, Jordy Bahl....
That's embarrassing. Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit.
well, Game 2 escalated quickly. OU hits a 3 run potato and leads 3-0 after 0.5 innings. (Why is it plural when it's less than 1?)
Well, typically, one should simply say, "...after a half-inning."
Yeah. My point was, why is 0.5 of something plural? 0.5 days. 0.5 gallons. Or even 0.9.
Why and when do you commonly write it that way? It’s just more correct to use “half-________”
I'm a mathematician. It's not "more correct" to say half a day or half a gallon. And no, I don't ever say point five of a gallon. I do often write it that way. Again, physicist/mathematician.
It’s a half-day or a half-gallon. Now if you’re talking about poor Horatio, then you’d say half a boy.
OU is putting up homers on Texas’s ace pitcher. I may have to go console Burke after this series.
Because the written out form of 0.5 gallons is five-tenths gallons (plural), whereas 0.1 gallon is one-tenth gallon (singular). One-half gallon is shortened to half gallon.
You should
For those that didn't see, Oklahoma is your National Champion... AGAIN.
