i think it means that employees can't steer a player to a sponsor. the position you mentioned, i believe, is just an administrative compliance spot.

What about steering a sponsor toward a player, especially a recruit, or someone in the portal?  I am sure that will never happen.

you keep bringing that up, what the fuck is it to you?  these guys have probably held jobs before, they can have agents, and it's going thru school compliance so i'm sure they are aware that there are taxes to be paid.

I assumed the vast majority will be W2 employees and their taxes will be handled just like every other employee in this country.  Which means none of them will make enough to ever have to pay estimated taxes.  I suppose some could be independent contractors and 1099'd. Either way, I would be shocked if the schools are not helping educate on the topic of taxes.

Yes, the department and at some schools they have a person who just deals with football only.

Funny, I assume that the vast majority will not be W2 employees.  I think they will be independent contractors.  These companies aren't going to want to have to furnish benefits to them also. 

And hopefully the schools will help educate them on taxes. I know I knew nothing about quarterly tax payments till well after college.
