I went yesterday and the guy that showed out was Wallace.  I think he got out twice in three scrimmages and one of those was hit 100+ off the bat right to the RF.  He looks primed for a monster year  The lineup is going to be as good as we have ever had.  The question is pitching.  Smith looked like a typical Freshman yesterday.  Walked a few and gave up some hits.  He is tough on lefty's but never got a righty out except for a bad called strike on Moore.  He's going to be good, but he is going to be thrown into the fire ready or not.  Tygart was impressive yesterday, but again we have seen what this conference does to Freshman pitchers.  We are really short on LHP's out of the pen.  We have four with none of them proven.  Some of our older guys have struggled so far and they did in the Fall.   Youi start looking at the roster and it's a little difficult to see where the outs are going to come from.  Noland, Tole, Bracken, Starks, Wiggins, Adamiak, Ramage, Zeb, Morris Trest, Gray?  I think we are going to have to rely on Freshmen like Tygart, Smith and Moten and that is scary in this league.  Especially when you look at what Ole Miss and LSU bring to the plate..  We have to find 7 quality arms.  That is about all you need for the tournament and you can get by with 5 if you don't lose.

Rick will probably call me Negative Nancy but the most troublesome part of this is that Moore is sticking with switch hitting.  I still believe he needs to focus on the lefty side.

DVH said in the swatters club presser last week that the team actually has too many left handed hitters.  So him switch hitting should help with that.

Thank God  :morris: ruined Conner Noland’s football career.   He’s going to be the ace of the staff for baseball.

Before pitch 1 has been thrown in the season? Not at all.

If you’re making a list Eric Musselman should be near the top or at the top of it. - Me

Noland is improved and Hagan Smith is supposed to be a stud - not based on hype. Based on summer and fall ball. Wiggins...I only hope he has developed a couple more pitches to go with the heat. If only we had pallette and kopps had stuck around to teach his gyro ball to the rest of the team.

why? who should it be? we have games until March 18 to let this play out.

I think the bullpen is the bigger concern.

We haven’t played a game yet and we already have pitching issues?

It won’t help if he continues to hit below .100 from that side.

Lineup for today.

I guess Webb’s future as the best centerfielder we’ve ever had will have to wait a little longer to begin.

battles clean-up hitter?  if he's worthy of that role this year, he's going to be a 1st rounder.

Is that the actual line-up? The order is just going around the field.

That's not the batting order if that's what's being asked. Just the lineup listed by positions 1-9 (plus DH).

Maybe it's just me, but DVH seems a bit different this preseason. Less stoic, almost kind of giddy maybe?

Happy DVH is the best DVH.

For some reason the above youtube cuts the last three minutes off of the press conference.  He takes a little swipe at Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss without naming them, in those last 3 minutes. You can see the whole press conference on the arkansasrazorbacks.com if you are so inclined.
