Fox Sports owns a minority stake in the new USFL that will launch in April 2022.  Fox will be the league's broadcast partner.

Weird that the teams have an affiliation of some sort with their "home" city, but all the games are played at one site.

The original Breakers of the USFL spent one season in Boston, one season in New Orleans, and then one season in Portland before the league folded.

The thing about the USFL of the 1980s is that you had, playing in that league, a decent number of players who were starting caliber in the NFL.  Quite a few players went on to have really good NFL careers after the USFL folded.

The new USFL, like these other recent spring leagues that failed, won't have that.  They're basically leagues for borderline NFL players to try to get  noticed and to extend their football careers a bit longer before they have to find new careers.

Exactly.  While the nfl needs a developmental league it won’t fund one.  So the USFL will find itself like the others: football with no stars.  And a schedule that is better TV wise than the XFL and AAFL since it won’t compete with March madness, it ends in mid July crashing into training camp and clashing with spring OTAs.  It might be ok for linemen but QB play will suck;  there are 32 good ones already.It’s a loser.  Again
