Donald Trump should jump in here.  Maybe they can manage more than that dollar* they won from the NFL.

Season starts April 16.

There's a preliminary injunction hearing two days later to determine whether the new USFL can use that name, and the old team names, or whether those properties are still owned by the prior USFL owners.  It's possible that the league and teams would be enjoined from using those names after the opening weekend of the season.

New Jersey at Birmingham. It's like watching a college game between teams you don't give a shit about.  Decent crowd.

It's football on tv, so I'm game.

The Michigan Panthers took La’Michael Pettway, who is apparently now a TE.

Pretty poor quality first half. Not much offensive rhythm. That last kick was pathetic. Cam would have hit it.

Fucking Jeff Fisher coaching Michigan.  I’m hoping he is the first coach fired by the USFL.

I’m of the opinion there are only two teams, who change uniforms between games.  No one knows who these players are.

Looks like all the regular-season games are at UAB’s stadium.  Hard for supposed Pittsburgh and Philadelphia teams to generate much of a fan base when neither of them play anywhere near Pennsylvania.

Also, how many football games are they expecting people in the Birmingham metro area to attend each weekend?  This doesn’t seem like a recipe for success as far as in-person attendance goes.

Also, bring back the Memphis Showboats!

Indeed, it’s stupid.  Might as well just give them generic team names.

The regular season is played at Legion Field and Protective Stadium.  The top 4 teams (2 from each division) will play the Semis and Championship in Canton, OH

I saw that.

Still, I don’t think you can expect a lot of fans around Birmingham to show up for four games every weekend, especially when only one team is supposedly a “Birmingham” team.  It’s not like very many people, if any, are going to travel from far off to Birmingham to see “their” team play.

I'm a football junkie and I have almost no interest in this league. I guess I could understand the pod style concept if the league traveled to a new city each week to drum up interest the first few years akin to what the Big 3 is doing during the summer with 3 on 3 basketball. Team names should have been nicknames and maybe team sponsors without geographical descriptors.

Traveling teams would have been a huge expenditure I'm sure much more so than traveling some basketball players.

The arena concept just died out but for a while it was fairly successful. They had butts in seats, John Elway managed to parlay it into a failed NFL exec career, it also produced at least one HOF quarterback. Not bad for a shitbird league.

I enjoyed watching Clint Stoerner playing for the Dallas Desperados and the Dallas Desperado Dancers.

I have yet to find a game on the TVs.  It's supposed to be on Fox or NBC, but I'll be damned if I can find a game on the local Fox or NBC stations.
