I find Briles’ play calling as baffling at times. But it is true that people here (and everywhere) have bitched about the play calling by every single OC we have ever had, with the possible exception of Petrino, who was his own OC.
I am not claiming I am right, I am saying I don't get it.
Oh there was plenty of complaining about Petrino's playcalling, usually by the same shortsighted posters who are ready to shut down the program when we fail to get a third down conversion in a 21-3 game that we're winning.
