About that time I was a DJ for Kix 104 and Garth, as some musicians would do, came by for publicity on his upcoming 1st album.  Usually whoever is at the station at the time gets pictures or autographs if they are anyone you've heard of and at this time Garth was not. 

I was in a studio doing production and they asked if I wanted to come out for pictures. I declined and of course a few months later he blows up! 

I'm sure if I would have met him we would have become lifelong friends and I would have been part of the travel crew.....but alas

I saw him in Casper, WY back in '98. It was a good show. Yearwood was on the bill with him, but can't remember if he had left his wife for her by that time or not.

It's my understanding that's not the case at all, they're the reason he quit touring. They had houses built on the same property so they could all be close and he agreed not to be on the road until they were all out of the house.

Garth does seem like a weird dude, but that's kinda par for the course with most famous people.
