During spring training, you always hear about how well we are hitting. Then you realize it is against our own pitchers. Then the season starts and other teams hit our pitchers, too, but we can’t hit other pitchers. Next spring, I would like to hear that we can’t hit our pitchers.
Other teams aren't hitting our pitchers though. We just really can't hit.
So Ramage, Vermillion, and others get a pass on being slapped around by everyone? But you are right. We can’t hit for shit.
Our ERA is #6 in all of baseball. Take Ramage out and it probably drops to #2 or #3. Pitching is not even close to our problem.
You have to admit though that our defense has kept a lot of runs from scoring in games where our pitchers have been hit.
That's embarrassing. Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit.
Here’s a stat to stew on — we’ve scored less than 4 or fewer runs in 15 games this year. We’re 7-8 in those games, which is actually pretty incredible that we’ve been able to grind out that many close wins. Our runs/game average in SEC play is abysmal.
