This pitching change brought to you by pure frustration with our lack of hitting.

Wood strikes out.  Sit down, bitch.  1 out.

Kuntowski grounds out to 3rd.  2 outs.

Cratic singles to RF.  Runner on 1st, 2 outs.

Hull walks.  Runners 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.

Bottom 6th.

PITCHING CHANGE:  Eric Loomis in to pitch for Lang.

This pitching change brought to you by my campaign pledge to ban left-handed pitching from baseball.  Vote for me for Dictator of Earth!

Slavens grounds out to 1st.  1 out.

Lanzilli strikes out. 2 outs.

Turner grounds out to 1st.  3 outs.

End 6th.  We suck 3.  We suck more 1.

During spring training, you always hear about how well we are hitting. Then you realize it is against our own pitchers. Then the season starts and other teams hit our pitchers, too, but we can’t hit other pitchers. Next spring, I would like to hear that we can’t hit our pitchers.

Bottom 8th.

PITCHING CHANGE:  Zigenbein in for whoever was pitching for SMS.

This pitching change brought to you by apathy.

Battles strikes out.  1 out.

Leach grounds out to 1st.  2 outs.

Wallace grounds out weakly to SS.  3 outs.

End 8th.  Game over.  We still get to bat one more time, but it will be more of same.

I count about a dozen ground balls to first base so far. Seriously though, does Nate Thompson actually...like...do anything?

So Ramage, Vermillion, and others get a pass on being slapped around by everyone? But you are right. We can’t hit for shit.

Our ERA is #6 in all of baseball.

Take Ramage out and it probably drops to #2 or #3.

Pitching is not even close to our problem.

Top 9th.

Tole in to pitch.  No one gives enough of a shit to sponsor this pitching change.

Moore walks.  Runner on 1st, 0 out.

Nivens strikes out swinging.  Runner on 1st, 1 out.

Baldwin pulls the trigger and fires one through the heart of the Razorbacks' last chance.  HR to RF.  5-1 SMS.  1 out.

PITCHING CHANGE:  Someone else coming in to replace Whogivesafuck.

Kuntz doubles to RF.  Runner on 2nd, 1 out.

They scored again on 2 wild pitches.  6-1.  I'm out.

This team won't make it out of the regional without major changes.

You have to admit though that our defense has kept a lot of runs from scoring in games where our pitchers have been hit.

Maybe, but results are what matters.

If our hitters were performing even 75% as well as our pitchers we'd be challenging Tennessee for #1.

What gets me is how well the players balled out in the summer leagues only to have issues during our season.

Here’s a stat to stew on — we’ve scored less than 4 or fewer runs in 15 games this year.

We’re 7-8 in those games, which is actually pretty incredible that we’ve been able to grind out that many close wins.

Our runs/game average in SEC play is abysmal.

You mean 4 hits and 8 strikeouts is NOT a good ratio?

That doesn’t even scratch the surface of the umpteen other unproductive moon shot pop ups and baserunning giveaway outs.

Why can’t we put it together?  We either have pitching or hitting.  We never seem to have it together except for the one year we dropped a routine pop up.

Anyone thinking we will make it to the CWS right now is crazy. While our pitching is decent and our defense is pretty good, our hitting is non existent. It is either HR or nothing. And it is usually nothing. We need to quit swinging for the fence every time at bat and try to make contact.
