Who's the idiot that designed these Benton ball fields?

The dugouts are so big and gaudy that no one sitting down the baselines can see into the outfield.

Even bigger problem were the lights. They’re waaay to short. Routine fly balls being lost above the lights.

Carolina on my mind...

Yeah the Benton experiment needs to end.

Watched a few broadcasts of the games and it doesn't look like what the state title games should be.

Baum/Bogle/Razorback Field are where it should be every year.

I know softball would've had a conflict this weekend but they could've moved it to one of the big school's facilities up here.

In my day the 5A (largest classification at the time) state tournament was held at lovely McClellan/Mills stadium.

I’m pretty sure the baseball title game was at Mills in ‘97.  Mountain Home beat Sheridan 6-5 in a game that featured a big brawl.  I think that was either 5A or 6A, but I can’t remember since they’ve changed it up so much over the last 20-25 years.

Where the heck is Taylor?   I’ve never heard of that one.   Guessing there’s no football program.

Part of the Emerson-Taylor-Bradley School District, Taylor is in Columbia County.  It’s 19 miles south of Magnolia and about 6 miles north of Springhill, Louisiana.

THS has 206 students in grades 7-12 and no football.

Benton came from behind to beat GCT 3-2 and win the 5A softball title.  It was Benton’s 63rd win in a row and their second consecutive perfect season.

I'm a little older. It was there in '85 also. Screw you Pine Bluff and Bryant for good measure.

Dang good softball team.  The pitcher for Benton is really good. They’ve beaten the biggest softball machine in the state 5x in a row.

I remember that.  Wasn't there but couple of teammates on a summer team who played HS at JA Fair (former baseball powerhouse) were at that game and it got ugly at the end.
