He's not, though.

Given a level playing field (or the lack of ability to cheat with impunity), he's pretty mediocre.  See: MSU, Miami Dolphins.

When he can stockpile superior talent with no regard to the rules, he's a pretty good coach.

That doesn't explain LSU.  He won a championship there at a program that had been dogshit for essentially 40 years before he arrived, and built a program that a functional retard was able to lead to a second one with his players.

I'm not saying he didn't cheat there...obviously he did.  But LSU wasn't going to get any benefit from the boys in Birmingham.

Alabama is one of many dirty programs in the SEC.  None of the other dirty programs have matched their level of success.  It's not all about the players you buy...if it was, Jimbo would've done something at A&M by now instead of putting up numbers like a taller Houston Nutt.  Saban was right about the Aggies...they've been cheating on that level since Bear Bryant got there, if not before.  They just haven't had good coaching for the bulk of their history.

You don't win as many championships as Saban has, even if you're able to cheat with impunity, unless you have something on the ball.

The only thing more ironic than Bama calling A&M dirty is Auburn calling Bama dirty.

Carolina on my mind...

Nah, Aggie gonna Aggie and "opt out " of that. Seems quite a trend for their entire athletic department.

And both beat Saban's Bama.

The only difference between them is the coach they couldn't wait to fire was a black guy and the coach they gave a lifetime contract to is a white redneck.

I am not claiming I am right, I am saying I don't get it.

Mark Emmert was the chancellor when Saban was at lsu.  They created the template that Saban took to Tuscaloosa and perfected when Emmert moved to Indianapolis.

Per Ben Daniel:
"Jumbo had the nerve to say it
wasn't the NIL. Says everyone is coming to A&M
because it's just a great place to be. Well.
Jimbo at A&M:
2018 - 0 five stars
2019 - 2 five stars
2020 - 2 five stars
2021 - 1 five star
Introduced det
Tweet
2022 - 7 five stars and the highest rated class of all
time.
Makes perfect logic - after losing to Ole Miss,
Mississippi State, Arkansas and LSU and finishing
4-4 in the SEC it was clear to the nation's elite
recruits that THIS was a program on the rise."

Steve Spurrier bringing the heat like only Spurrier can:

Quote
“I don’t know why (Fisher) is mad at Saban,”.....“Did Saban say something that wasn’t true?”

“I don’t think Saban told any lies in there, so I don’t know what he was mad about,”....

“Since (Fisher) beat him last year, I guess he can talk now,” Spurrier said.....

“He hasn’t beat much of anybody, but he beat Saban last year. But they haven’t won the division or anything since he’s been there.”

She needs to learn more accents and she will be just like Meryl Streep but attractive.
