North Carolina Super Regional
« on: June 07, 2022, 09:25:55 AM »
Your Arkansas Razorbacks take on the North Carolina Tar Heels (yuck) starting this Saturday, June 11th, at 10:00AM. Early game. We just beat a pretty darn good team in the regionals. Hopefully, North Carolina doesn’t have a lot of lefties to throw at us. Don’t know much about NCs baseball team, but they did win their regional and are playing at home. Shouldn’t matter as long as we keep playing like we did in our regional. Fire in our bellies. Bats alive. Pitchers coming through in the clutch. Here’s hoping we take the super in 2 games and move on. That regional was the hardest I have seen us play all year. Keep it up and we win going away. And I hope the orange haired faerie is crying in his cereal this morning. As usual, GO HOGS! And Dirk….your PBP was superb.

The room looked like the site of some horrible zoological experiment involving whiskey and gorillas....

Gotta think that would affect their attendance a bit. Maybe not a bad thing.

This isn't basketball over the years. Nobody will protect them. North Carolina is losing this one.

I don't know anything about UNC baseball, but there's no way they hit better than Oklahoma State. They have to be one of the best teams we've played all year.

OK State was a veritable Murderer’s Row.

They were one of the best hitting teams I’ve ever seen in my life, with one of the greatest performances by a hitter I’ve ever seen at any level.

Our pitching staff shouldn’t be intimidated by anyone.

Good Luck in the Super Regional vs the Tar Heels!

IMHO, the Omahogs are going to play in the College World Series.

I agree. They could rake. Never seen a team that hit that well. And then come up dry when it mattered.

I've already GMFd but am apparently inept at it.  Where can I find statistics for the Stillwater regional?

Historically, UNC is a very good program. I haven’t watched this team play, but not much stands out about them on paper. They finished T-7th in the ACC with a 15-15 record. They had a bad record against the top six teams from the conference. Their RPI is #4 for whatever that’s worth. They didn’t have any 1st team ACC players. Their SS made 2nd team ACC, one OF made 3rd team ACC and another OF made All-freshman ACC. And they advanced from the losers bracket in a weak Regional.

In other words, it’s the exact kind of team that will sweep us.

Carolina on my mind...

How in the world did they get to host with that record? RPI really needs to be done away with

I had the same question.  That’s a terrible resume.

Tell him you'll be there for his next wedding.

Be sure the fiancé is within earshot.

i might be able to watch a few minutes of game 1.  taking the fam to the buffalo river as soon as my oldest finishes his ACT test saturday.  it is the only weekend between now and aug 13 that we don't have something going on or one of the kids is away at a camp.

fuck your feelings

That's where y'all met?

That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit.

The Pigglers are going to be in attendance for the Sunday and Monday (if necessary) games.

If we receive tickets through the university, I will have three available for Saturday's game if anyone is interested.  Face value is $15/ticket/game.
