I am running our of fucks to give but here goes…your Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Gumps from Alabama at Alabama this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday’s game begins at 6:00 and is on SEC+ and the ESPN app. Friday’s game is at 7:00 and will be shown on the SEC Network. Saturday’s game is at 1:00 and on SEC+ and the ESPN app. Our bats are limper than an 80 year old man’s dick. Offense is stagnant. I am surprised that we haven’t had any back injuries from our guys screwing themselves into the ground swinging for the fence every at bat. Doesn’t matter if we get a man on. The next guy will just hit into a DP if he doesn’t strike out. Second and third and no outs? Forget about it. We will be lucky to win 1. Every team has us figured out now and throws lefty after lefty at us. A freshman lefty just kicked our asses after throwing over 100 pitches. My hope is fading…..but as usual, GO HOGS!
-
Good thing we are peaking at the right time :suicide:
-
Bama only has one lefty starter so at least we have a chance in the other two.

Doesn't have to be a starter. Probably wouldn't even need to be a pitcher. Find an outfielder or first baseman whose never pitched before and give him a shot.
-
Can we cancel the series since this will likely lower our RPI?
-
The only thing that gives me hope for the postseason is MSU’s form this time last year.

The only thing that gives me hope for the postseason is MSU’s form this time last year.
This time last year, MSU was coming off a series against Mizzou where they lost 2 of 3. Coincidentally, they also closed their season with Alabama in Tuscaloosa, so there are synergies there.
They swept Bama, went 0-2 in Hoover, and the rest is history.
For reference, last year MSU batted .278 as a team in the regular season (we’re at .272), had an OPS of .814 (.860), 75 homers (77), 306 walks (260), and struck out 455 times (395). On the mound, they had a team ERA of 4.04 (3.57), and 817 strikeouts (529).
The biggest discrepancies in the numbers are that they walked way more than we did and their pitchers had far more strikeouts than we do. Other than that the numbers are fairly similar, if not a bit in our favor.

We won't win another game.

Interesting break down.
Also their last two games before regionals began were losses of 13-1 and 12-2. Whatever Lemonis figured out once June rolled around was pretty impressive.
-
We are not going to win the west. We won’t get a national seed. We are going to look like dogshit through the regionals and the supers.
We will make it to Omaha and we will win the first game once there.

I don't care for that regional at all...could see either TCU or Tech taking us down.
If we were able to clear that one, I could see us hosting Florida in the Supers. I'd like our chances in a rematch with them at home.
Realistically I don't see us ending up in the 6/11 matchup though. Either we win the West and end up top 8 ( likely 8th), or we don't and probably end up closer to 15th or 16th at best. It seems like D1 is splitting the difference between potential outcomes with that seeding for us.

The thing I do like about that bracket is that it allows us to pitch off in game 1. There are some solid 4 seeds with good arms and we avoid them with this draw. The problem is that I don't know who our best pitcher is right now. Smith cannot throw in game 2 of a regional, I do know that.
-
I don't see how we are going to be a top 8 seed even if we sweep and win the West. We are at 26 in the RPI. Only 9 points in between us and #30, but there are 48 points between us and #21. Even if we sweep I don't know that we can get into the top 20, definitely can't get in the top 16. We have to go 1-2 just to be in the top 32.

I just don't see how they leave out a 20-10 outright SEC division champ, regardless of RPI. The only time it's happened in recent memory was 2016 South Carolina, and SC was one of three twenty win teams in the league and had the lowest RPI of the three. The west was much stronger that year with three national seeds...Tennessee running roughshod over the other side would have to help in that regard this year. The only SEC team with a lesser record that would even have an argument is A&M (assuming they finish 19-11), and that's pretty tenuous given that we would've finished with the better record and how close the series was that we lost to them in Sheepfuckistan (zero run differential).
I really think we're going to go 2-1, finished tied with aTm, and end up hosting as the sixteen seed, paired with Tennessee. And I'm kind of okay with that if we aren't a national seed. It would be fun as hell to be the team to shut those cocky fuckers down. Maybe playing them would motivate us to get off our asses and play to somewhere close to our potential.

I don't think the NCAA cares about a division winner. Typically the SEC West champ has had a great SOS and RPI to go along with the record. The SEC West isn't very good this year. Look at the resumes of the teams and there isn't much there. Just a few years ago we had 5 in the top 16 RPI.. Last year was the year most of the pundits like D1 thought the NCAA would move away from RPI due to the Covid scheduling. Instead the NCAA went almost exclusively by RPI. It has been the #1 metric for a while.

Louisiana Tech hosted last year with a 29 RPI.
In 2019 Ole Miss hosted with 22 RPI, and Oregon St. had 20 RPI.
2018 Texas hosted at 22, NC State at 19.
The national seeds have held closer to the top 12 or so, but they are clearly willing to go outside the top 20 for hosting if there is a good argument for the team in question.
We'll see.

There is no way the committee would NOT give a national seed to a team that comes in 2nd place in the SEC and has 20 SEC wins. We win the west with 19 or 20 SEC wins and come in 2nd overall in the SEC (as long as Ole Miss beats aTm), we will be a national seed.

D1 has us as the 13 seed in their latest projections.

Watching FSU vs. FU right now.
Is Jud Fabian the most overrated player in the last several years of college baseball?
Before you bring up players off our current roster, remember that Jud is build like a fucking adonis, not like a jockey who just missed making weight.

Don’t sleep on Ole Miss against A&M. They seem to have turned a corner after being in free fall a few weeks ago. They played us very hard and were 2 swings away from sweeping us, and they swept LSU in Baron Rouge this past weekend.

Didn't they have us projected as an 8 seed before the Vandy series?

We're a victim of our own success here. Gotten spoiled with the teams we've had recently and the near misses we've had. Now the spoiled brat section of our fanbase is whining like infants.

I don’t think it is as bad they make it sound concerning the fans but they were talking big before the season. Add that to all listed above and the fact they are 5-5 in the last 10 and of course there will be angst. Hey. At least folks still give a shit.
Like Nolan said - you gotta feed the monster
I don’t think DVH is mad, he is just defending his players who are probably need to spend more time in the cage or hunt center than on social media.
This is the same group he challenged in the press a couple weeks ago when. He said they weren’t special and need to get better.

Expectations are high for the Hogs after a string of successfull seasons under head coach Dave Van Horn who says, “We’re going to be every bit as electric as we’ve been the last couple years.”

Add to that the hefty raise in scholarship donations required to get season tickets, and you have more people expecting a higher return on their investment.

And the flipping of seats
-
I’m not down on the team. My expectations have just been adjusted to the reality of their performance. They aren’t shitty, they just aren’t as good as I, and many others, thought they would be. If they can get out of a regional I would consider that a success for this team considering what I have seen most of the season. Any thing more and it is gravy.

Ramage in to pitch in the bottom of the fifth and almost gives up a HR on the first pitch. Caught at the wall. And goes three up three down. Nice.

Scoreboard graphic person can’t add.
Need to put a 5 not a 2 in the 5th frame.
Who are these announcers?

Looks like about 50 people at the game.

WTF was Lanzilli doing? Hell, the catcher was about to throw the ball back to the pitcher before Lanzilli took off.

It's called a delayed steal. We do it quite often.
-
Dead ball strike sounds like

That did not hit him.
-
That did not hit him.
Was it a strike?
Listening to Phil who implies if you don’t get out of the way of the pitch it is an out. Wtf?
-
If it was a strike it was borderline.
-
It’s so weird watching a game and not seeing any fans behind the plate or behind the dugouts when they give the side shot of the batter.
-
It's called a delayed steal. We do it quite often.
I know. We should stop.
-
Gregory watches more pitches go right down the middle and then acts shocked they get called a strike than any player I can remember.
-
Gregory goes down on 3 pitches in the exact same spot on the outside corner. Doesn’t swing the bat once.
-
We have to be the leading team that watches strikes right down the middle.
-
Moore is a liability at the plate

Gotta stay fresh for games 2 and 3.

It is like he goes up there expecting to walk every time. Or get HBP.
-
20 minute meeting on the mound by Bama?
-
Damn umps gave the Bama pitcher plenty of time to warm up.
-
There should be a clock when the coach goes to the mound.
Only the head coach can call for a pitching change and once he leaves the dugout he has 2 minutes to initiate the pitching change and the new pitcher has 8 pitches/3 minutes to warm on the mound.
Home team pitcher doesn’t get any warmup time on the mound. He should be familiar already.
-
Nice job Battles!
-
Prediction: Gregory watches a called third strike.
He grounded out just to spite me.
-
Great hit by Battles.
-
Nice job Battles!
That Julian Battles is a player

That Julian Battles is a player
That’s Jalen’s alter ego. These announcers are bad.

So great to see this team continue to rake.
-
Hogs win 7-3!
-
I can do some PBP but probably not before the start of the 2nd inning.
-
Stovall just fouled one off his dick.
-
Stovall might be on the softball team tomorrow.
EDIT: Probably not.
-
Stovall might be on the softball team tomorrow.
And then doubles.
-
Two strikes on Gregory.
Does he watch a pitch down the middle and then act surprised?
Nope. Strikes out swinging.

Stovall just fouled one off his dick.
That replay, ouch

Bottom 2nd.
Williamson grounds out to Battles. 1 out.
Tamez the Transfer from Arkansas grounds out to Battles. 2 outs.
(Editor's Note: Tamez the Transfer from Arkansas was the final player in the legendary Dominic streak at Arkansas. His departure after the 2020 covid year ended a ten-year run of at least one player named Dominic on the roster at Arkansas - Ficociello, Taccolini, Fletcher, Tamez. The current Heston streak stands at five seasons).
Denton strikes out. Sit down, bitch. 3 outs.
End 2nd. 1-0 Hogs.
-
Top 3rd.
Wallace strikes out swinging. 1 out.
Turner grounds out. 2 outs.
Moore strikes out. 3 outs.
Mid 3rd. 1-0 Hogs.
-
BGB (Big game Bob) has turned into BOB (Big out Bob).
-
We don't seem to make much solid contact with the ball, quite frustrating
-
Bottom 3rd.
Seidl flies out to surprisingly deep RF. Lanzilli does a 360 and makes the catch. 1 out.
Diodati singles off Stovall's glove. Should be E3...Stovall tried to field it even though Moore was right behind him and had a better angle. Runner on 1st, 1 out.
Tommy Shaw...err..Jarvis walks. Runners 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
Rose flies out to RF. Runners 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.
Hameater chops one off the plate...infield hit. Bases full of NIL money, 2 outs.
Pinckney, their one player who doesn't suck, with the check swing strikeout. He's not happy with the call...but sit down, bitch. 3 outs.
End 3rd. 1-0 Arkansas.
-
Top 4th.
Lanzilli rips one down the LF line. Stand up double. Runner on 2nd, 0 out.
Slavens singles through the shift. Lanzilli scores. HOGS LEAD 2-0. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
Webb walks strikes out homers grounds into a double play. 2 outs.
Stovall with the swinging bunt in front of the plate, thrown out at 1st. 3 outs.
Mid 4th. Hogs 2 Gumps 0
-
I hate the fucking shift.
-
Bottom 4th.
Williamson singles to LF beating the shift. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
Tamez the Transfer from Arkansas singles to RF beating the shift. Runners 1st and 3rd, 0 out.
Denton with a legitimate single to RF. Williamson scores. 2-1 Hogs. Runners 1st and 2nd, 0 out.
Seidl flies out to CF. Runners 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
Diodati strikes out swinging. Sit down, bitch. Runners 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.
Shaw Jarvis grounds to Stovall. 3 outs.
End 4th. Hogs 2 Gumps 1
-
Yeah shift

I hate the fucking shift.
In all fairness it works well against us. However, we suck at it.

By the way I forgot to stop by and say FUCK YO COUCH TED CRUZ on behalf of my sister in Christ Danielle Gibson.
-
One thing that concerns me bigly about this Hog team is that we quite literally never go out and mash anybody.
I get that’s easier said than done in this conference, but you figure we’d at least have the occasional game where we put our nuts on the table, jump out on someone, and win 12-2 where the game is over I the 6th.
We constantly play up or down to our level of competition. This Bama team is struggling to even make Hoover and yet we’re having trouble with them.
-
Top 5th.
Battles takes advantage of the shift with a weak grounder that the 2nd baseman fields, but not in time to throw him out at 1st. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
Gregoire sac bunts Battles to 2nd (on a 3-1 count...WTF Dave?). Runner on 2nd, 1 out.
Wild pitch enables Battles to move up. Runner on 3rd, 1 out.
Wallace strikes out swinging at strike two. Runner on 3rd, 2 outs.
Turner pounds one off the RF wall, narrowly missing a couch fucking. Battles scores. 3-1 HOGS. Runner on 2nd, 2 outs.
Moore walks. Runners 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.
Lanzilli singles to CF. Turner scores. 4-1 HOGS. Bob to 2nd. Runners 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.
Slavens uses the free strike after the Bama 3rd baseman Razorbacks an easy pop up to strike out looking. 3 outs.
Mid 5th. 4-1 Hogs.

I get the idea of bunting with Gregory. He's really good at getting hits that way.
But someone needs to remind DVH that the runner moves to 2nd on a walk just as well as if you bunt him up...more easily even.

Gregory is good at bunting or hitting right handers. He should never bat with a left hander pitching.

Seems like we've hit more doubles tonight than all of SEC play.

Bottom 5th.
Rose gets on 1st somehow while I was taking a piss. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
Hameater singles to RF on a hit and run. Runners 1st and 3rd, 0 out.
Pinckney grounds up the middle to Moore, who gets the force at 2nd. Pinckney safe at 1st on the relay. Rose scores. 4-2 Hogs. Runner on 1st, 1 out.
Williamson with another seeing eye single. Runners 1st and 3rd, 1 out.
Tamez the Transfer from Arkansas grounds one into LF. Pinckney scores. 4-3 Hogs. Runners 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
Dave says fuck this shit. Pitching change incoming. Morris in for Noland.
This pitching change brought to you by whoever Connor pissed off to get the kind of luck he had in that inning.
Wild pitch moves runners up. Runners 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. FUCK.
Denton walks. Bases loaded, 1 out. Marlboro Light hats engaged for Alabama.
Seidl bloops one to RF...of course Lanzilli can't make the play. Run scores from 3rd. Tied 4-4. Bases full of NIL money, 1 out.
(Editor's Note: graduate transferring from Harvard to Alabama has to be like retiring as the scientist who cured cancer and getting a job picking corn out of prisoners' shit with your bare hands. Or like going from being paid a billion dollars a year to fuck super models to eating Hillary Clinton's ass for minimum wage.)
Diodati singles to RF. Two Gumps score. 6-4 Alabama. Runners 1st and 3rd, still just one fucking out.

Killer instinct is lacking.

Make it stop!

The announcers jinxed the shit out of Morris when he came in. Had only allowed one earned in SEC play, crazy low ERA, unhittable stuff.
Then he proceeds to implode like a 9U pitcher without getting an out.

Jarvis bunts back to the mound...close play at the plate, called safe. 7-4 Alabama. Runners 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
PITCHING CHANGE: Zeb in for Morris.
This pitching change brought to you by FireVanHorn.com. Not really, but god damn this team is frustrating as fuck.
This is going to end up being the longest half-inning report evah. You're going to take up a whole page.
-
To your point, we open a three run lead then promptly give up a half dozen and still going in the bottom of the frame.
Killer instinct is lacking.
Yep.
I thought maybe, just maybe, after that top of the 5th we might pull away.
Then we get fucking batted around on.
-
This is 9U travel ball shit.
Dropped pop ups, booted balls, getting batted around on, wild pitches, and duffing balls off the mitt.
-
Probably get slammed but where is all this power and pitching we were supposed to have? I thought maybe we started out slow and it would come on but no.
-
I have been watching, but unable to post. Seems to me like the damn defensive shift cost us badly on at least 4 plays.
-
Another freshman pitcher for the Gumps that will probably kick our ass.
-
Top 6th.
PITCHING CHANGE: #27 in for McNairy.
This pitching change brought to you by former McNairy County sheriff Buford Pusser.
Webb walks strikes out homers looking on a 3-2 count. 1 out.
Stovall grounds out to 3rd. 2 out.
Battles grounds out. 3 out.
Mid 6th. Cousin Fuckers 7 Bed Shitters 4.
-
Either this class and group wasn’t what DVH thought or he was blowing smoke. They aren’t very good right now and haven’t really clicked all year.
Moore is a disaster and not getting better. .230 is bad. Really bad.
-
And now our bats will turn to icicles. :suicide:
Yep. 1-2-3
-
All of our walk up songs should be “Down on Main Street” because that’ s where we watch strike three.
-
And now our bats will turn to icicles. :suicide:
Just think if they have a lefty who can throw over 40 mph...
-
I wonder if they keep stats on how many times a team swings at a ball, but whiffs. We would surely lead the SEC in that category.
-
Our approach at the plate has been frustrating for about four or five years now. This year is killing me with all the looking third strikes. When you have two strikes, you’re taught to protect. Anything close. We just sit there and fucking stare at the pitch and then hop around in disgust when it is called a strike.
-
Bottom 6th.
Pinckney hits the first pitch to Mobile. 8-4 gumps. 0 out. So fucking frustrating...
Williamson walks. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
Tamez grounds out to 3rd. Runner on 2nd, 1 out.
Denton flies out to Gregory. Runner on 2nd, 2 outs.
Seidl grounds out to Stovall. 3 outs.
End 6th. Nothing to play for 8, No one to give a shit 4.
-

Moore is a disaster and not getting better. .230 is bad. Really bad.
Wouldn’t be so bad if he had some hard luck outs. But he has a shit ton of strikeouts. I would prefer if he never hit another home run because he could have a classic line drive base hitter swing with fairly regular gap power. He could seriously hit high .300s.
-

With the way he's played we'll probably get to see if he can accomplish that next year.
-
Vermillion has done that all year. I have no idea why we keep trotting him out there.
-
Vermillion has been the biggest career disappointment. He has been a huge disappointment.
-

This.
We act like we have zero awareness of the count.
I like being selective with fewer than two strikes. But once you get to X-2 count, if it's close you have to put it in play.
-
Vermillion has done that all year. I have no idea why we keep trotting him out there.
If not him, who? Morris already shit the bed. We don't want to use Tygart or Taylor in a lost cause.
-
My first ever Razorback baseball game to attend. It’s gone from my bucket list to the fuckit list.
-
If not him, who? Morris already shit the bed. We don't want to use Tygart or Taylor in a lost cause.
No idea, but putting him in is like throwing in the towel. Ramage has been a little better lately. At least for one or two innings.
-
Top 7th.
Gregory, who has not been hit by a pitch yet tonight, is hit by a pitch. Play under review. Announcers think he Walkered it. Obviously he didn't, because Birmingham upheld the call. If it was even close we know that wouldn't have happened. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
Wallace grounds into what would've been a double play if there had been someone on the right side to cover 2nd base. Force at 2nd. Runner on 1st, 1 out.
Turner strikes out allegedly swinging. Runner on 1st, 2 outs.
Moore bloops one into LF for a single. Runner on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.
Lanzilli, who owes us at least two runs, rips one down the line for extra bases. Wallace and Moore score. 8-6 Alabama. Runner on 2nd, 2 outs.
PITCHING CHANGE: They have a lefty coming in. Brock Guffey. The comeback was fun while it lasted. FUCK!
This pitching change brought to you by my weekly reminder that people should not be allowed to pitch left-handed in the game of baseball. This is not a discriminatory policy. Those who favor their left arm are welcome to pitch...they just have to use the other arm to do it.
Slavens strikes out by taking ball three at his eyes. Fuck this ump. 3 outs.
Mid 7th. Them 8 Us 6
-
Annnnnnnndddddd, right on cue, Wallace hits right into the teeth of the shift.
What’s the definition of insanity again?
-
nice, some life but...... can they reclaim the lead?
seen this movie too many times - lead then down big, big comeback that falls short.
10%!!
-
Second night in a row they let the Bama coach get away with giving his relief pitcher a few more warm up tosses.
-
Second night in a row they let the Bama coach get away with giving his relief pitcher a few more warm up tosses.
That is something the league should address.
-
Annnnnnnndddddd, right on cue, Wallace hits right into the teeth of the shift.
What’s the definition of insanity again?
We always hit right into the shift, yet everyone we play seems to be able to beat ours.
-
Damn Slavens. Watched another strike three. I get it, that is a tough pitch, especially if you give up on it half way to the plate.
-
Damn Slavens. Watched another strike three. I get it, that is a tough pitch, especially if you give up on it half way to the plate.
Apparently, when we have 2 strikes, we are not taught to protect the plate.
-
Bottom 7th.
STOP: Rammer time! Kole Ramage in to replace his fellow Class of 1998 graduate Zeb Vermillion.
This pitching change brought to you by FUCK THIS UMP.
Doadildo strikes out swinging at strike four. Sit down, bitch. One out.
Tommy Shaw strikes out swinging. Sit all the way down, bitch. 2 outs.
Rose grounds out to Battles. 3 outs.
End 7th. 8-6 bad guys.
-
Damn Slavens. Watched another strike three. I get it, that is a tough pitch, especially if you give up on it half way to the plate.
Someone, I don't know, maybe the hitting coach, should teach these guys that they play for Arkansas and are going to get fucked by the umpires more often than not on balls and strikes. Taking a close pitch, or in the case of Slavens strike three, one that is between your helmet and your shoelaces, is guaranteeing an out with no chance of doing anything about it.
-
Great job by Ramage that inning. If we could get that production for three to four innings every time out he would be deadly. We need that Ramage.
-
It is funny, that while some of our pitchers are getting average, Ramage seems to be getting better.
-

Like I wrote, that was a tough pitch. I think most guys would have taken that pitch. It’s just frustrating to watch called third strikes so often.
-
Top 8th. Let's not wait until the 9th guys.
Webb walks strikes out homers with a bloop single to CF. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
(Editor's Note: DON'T FUCKING BUNT DAVE!)
Stovall with the ugliest swing of the season on strike three. Runner on 1st, 1 out.
Battles grounds into a 6-4-3 DP. 3 outs. Comeback over.
Mid 8th. Going to Birmingham 8, Going on the road for the regional 6.
-
Like I wrote, that was a tough pitch. I think most guys would have taken that pitch. It’s just frustrating to watch called third strikes so often.
After his brief vacation, Slavens has shown a pretty good understanding of the strike zone.
-
Jesus. What was Stoval swinging at there. My god.
-
Top 8th. Let's not wait until the 9th guys.
Webb walks strikes out homers with a bloop single to CF. Runner on 1st, 0 out.
(Editor's Note: DON'T FUCKING BUNT DAVE!)
Dave should have called for the bunt. Haha.
-
Battles grounds in to a double play to end the inning.
-
Moore and Slavens approach at the plate is like a golfer at a long drive contest.
-
Dave should have called for the bunt. Haha.
Last time I fucking use that one.
-
Bottom 8th.
Hameater strikes out. Sit down, bitch. 1 out.
Pinckney strikes out swinging. Sit down, bitch. 2 outs.
Williamson hits a routine grounder to Battles...who drops it transferring the ball to throw it. E6. Runner on 1st, 2 outs.
Delayed steal from Williamson. Runner on 2nd, 2 outs.
Tamez the Transfer from Arkansas chops one off the plate (for the 47th time so far this series)...Wallace with an outstanding throw to get the out. 3 outs.
End 8th. Looking for a rare win 8, Last chance 6.
-
These Alabama players look like woke hipster lesbians who would be offended by absolutely everything.
-
Jesus. What was Stoval swinging at there. My god.
That pitch was so far outside, even their catcher couldn’t catch it.
-
That pitch was so far outside, even their catcher couldn’t catch it.
He actually caught it in the other batters box. Horrible swing.
-
Well, just, well, not much good to say right now
-
He actually caught it in the other batters box. Horrible swing.
Barely. It was damn near out of the right handed batters box.
Stovall is like 1-50 against lefties this year. Might have been a good time for a pinch hitter.
-
These Alabama players look like woke hipster lesbians who would be offended by absolutely everything.
They aren't?
-
Anyone want to bet the next three hitters try to hit for the fence?
-
Top 9th. Last call for alkyhall.
Dylan Leach pinch hitting for Gregory.
(Editor's Note: it might not have been the worst idea to pinch hit Leach for Stovall last inning instead of the guy who is a HBP magnet)
Leach pops out to 2nd. 1 out.
Wallace singles through the opening in RF where a 2nd baseman is supposed to be. Runner on 1st, 1 out.
(Editor's Note: You couldn't make a better promotional video arguing against the shift than this game...for both teams).
Turner flies out to LF. Runner on 1st, 2 outs.
Big Game Bob (he's due) singles to LF. Runners 1st and 2nd, 2 outs. Still alive for a minute.
PITCHING CHANGE: Gray coming in for this Oakley wearing at night wronghanded motherfucker.
This pitching change brought to you by Hope (yes, that one) taking off that dress to reveal a perfect body untainted by underwear or pubic hair, then walking slowly over to the nearest Razorback player and offering herself up without limitations.
Lanzilli, who by my calculations still owes us a couple of runs, strikes out to end it.
Alabama 8, Hogs 6.
Goodbye, national seed. Almost certainly goodbye to hosting as well.
-
nice job Wallace. a hit to the opposite side. what a concept!!!!
he tomahawked that thing.
-
We can’t let a guy wearing douchebag glasses beat us.
-
Moore took my criticism to heart

-
This loss hurts. A&M lost tonight. Had we won the west would have been ours. Now we will both win tomorrow and the tie goes to the Aggies. Fucking sucks.
-
Didn’t someone say Bama only had 1 lefty to throw at us?
-
are finally hitting singles. Up 2-0 so far with 1 out in the first. Runners at first and second.
Hogs lead 2-0 mid first.
2-0 Hogs after 1.
-
Surprise! Gregory is HBP.
-
Oh boy, here we go.
Wiggins serving it on a silver platter.
Good job, Nuke.
Maybe the softball rain delay won’t be that long.
-
What a fucking meltdown.
-
We need to go with 1 pitcher, 1 inning. That is about what we are getting anyway.
-
Our pitching is laughable. Another pitching change…6-2 Bama.
-
This team had so much potential, how disappointing
-
But I’m assured our relief corps is excellent
-
6-2 Gumps after 2.
-
This team has four more games left. Two losses in Hoover, and two more in someone else’s regional.
This has been the least enjoyable season for me since Van Horn got here. Yes that includes 2016.
-
Twice in the last 6 innings, they’ve hung 6 on us.
Special.
-

Be careful, DVH might lump you in with the 10% of “bad fans” that are critical of the program.

Agree.
-
This team will win its regional. I think they win the Super and make Omaha. I’m going to keep the faith.
-
Fuck this game. I’m out for today. I can’t watch this.
-
Fuck this game. I’m out for today. I can’t watch this.
About four minutes later. Did you change your mind about Omaha?
-
This team spent the offseason ducking their own dicks instead of getting ready to play. Oh well.
-
Where is all this great pitching and power hitting we were told we had? I kept waiting for us to peak, but I don’t think we ever did. This is as good as we are. And this is shitty. It looks like the team has given up.
-
Moore and Slavens back on track today.
-

The pitching was fine until last weekend. We’re not a great team but a lot you are acting like we’re sub .500 in conference and won’t make the tournament.
We’re a very frustrating team to watch that seems to play to the level of its opponent, but up until last weekend, we had played pretty well overall. I think the expectations of this season creates a perception that this team is worse than it is.
-
Looking like runny dog shit. The kind where the dog ate a lot of grass because there's some serious intestinal thing going on and you step in it barefoot in the morning going for the newspaper that you just know the paper boy placed strategically next to just to start your day off right. Now we gotta spend the next few months getting this shit of a season out between our toes.

All against inferior opponents. I can't think of an actual challenge this particular team has risen to all year...then there's losing like this.
-
Enjoy the slow decline here on out, because suggesting we start looking is crazy talk.
Two SEC titles in 20 seasons. That's it. End of achievement list.
-
Not much changed since game 2 of the super last year (except the addition of tuner) and no one seemed to elevate their game at the plate.
Rinse and repeat
-

Two SEC titles in 20 seasons. That's it. End of achievement list.
Fuck off. Seriously. Showing up and rubbing it in at the lowest point and sounding like you're just loving it. Are we sure this isn't boondoggle making a different account just to spread around the bitching across the different sports?
-
I’ll admit I’m not a big baseball guy, but I looked and a loss today would put them 7-8 in SEC games since they swept LSU in mid-April.
Would it be safe to say this team is backing its way into the postseason?
-

Frustrating is correct. This team should wipe their ass with the Gumps, but that ain't happen'.
-
It sucks, a disappointing season happens, that is baseball
But to bitch about fans when this team is going to finish 6-7 to close out the year is [emoji90]
-

What post season? Fucking call it here. This is embarrassing. I mean I hope it ends up being the case where we're just getting the worst of it out of our system like when you have food poisoning and you just gotta let it run its course, but shit. We've been doing this for a few games now. How much more shit we got left in us to get out?
-
Hey, maybe we should try having our pitchers field and hit while everybody else pitches by committee. You know, just to switch things up. Couldn't be much worse than whatever the fuck we're doing here.
-
DONE.
-
Thrice in the last eight innings, they’ve hung 6 on us.
-
This is all my fault. Never been to a Hogs baseball game before. Me and wifey are here to celebrate 41st anniversary. Bucket list and shit. Our expectations were so high we jinxed the team.
-
With football and basketball improving, something has to take a shit. :suicide:
Next year then.
-

Next year then.
All things considered, I can live with bad baseball if football and basketball are doing really well. That’s an easy trade off.
-
About four minutes later. Did you change your mind about Omaha?
No. We are still a good team. Today is t our day but that doesn’t change what I think we do.
-
They have quit and are laying down for a good bleed. Oh well
-
I’ll admit I’m not a big baseball guy, but I looked and a loss today would put them 7-8 in SEC games since they swept LSU in mid-April.

No. We are not backdooring into the post season.
-
Pure seedless horse shit
-
18-3 in the 5th if anyone cares
-
Have we Ole Missed ourselves?
-
No. We are not backdooring into the post season.
6-7 over last 13 is not good though
-
Four times in the last nine innings, they’ve hung at least 5 on us.
Over that stretch, they've outscored us 26-7.
-
No. We are not backdooring into the post season.
You're right. We'll be getting backdoored in the postseason
-
Our guys sure have a lot of quit in em.
-
If we host we’ll get a solid 2 and 3 seed for regionals not a bunch of in-state slaps
-
No. We are not backdooring into the post season.
Playing their best ball of the season at the right time, eh?
-
They have 18 runs on 11 hits. That is pee-wee shit.
-
Maybe our idiot fans will stop complaining about playing in state competition. This team needs all the schedule padding it can get.
-

At least 90% of the fans are still awesome. I hope it doesn't drop to 89% after today.
-
6-7 over last 13 is not good though
No argument there.
-
So....the NBA finals are shaping up to be pretty interesting this year. Fall camp is which week in August?
-
The extremely hot Vandy team that beat us in a home series last weekend just got swept by LSU, including a 21-11 loss today.
-
The extremely hot Vandy team that beat us in a home series last weekend just got swept by LSU, including a 21-11 loss today.
And that LSU team was swept at home by OM last weekend. A lot of inconsistency in the SEC this season outside of Tennessee and A&M to an extent.
-
This team has zero fire or aggression. Really nice team, though. Likeable.
:suicide:
-
Maybe our idiot fans will stop complaining about playing in state competition. This team needs all the schedule padding it can get.
Wait, maybe I am an idiot, I know my wife says so often, but the other day I asked if playing the in state teams was the reason our RPI was so low, and most people said yes. I will start complying about those games from now on. They aren’t helping us one bit. The RPI is obviously more important than the record.
-
Maybe our idiot fans will stop complaining about playing in state competition. This team needs all the schedule padding it can get.
It's the in-state teams and whatever pussy scheduled 3 non conference series with Illlinois St, Illinois-Chicago and SE Louisiana. Throw in Grambling State and there's 12 BS games right there!
-

We usually play two series against teams of that caliber instead of three. I wonder if they had trouble finding someone willing to come to Fayetteville.
The Round Rock tournament field ending up being dog shit didn't help matters either.
-

This biggest issue with the non conference schedule is we lose fucking games.
-
None of this matters unless it continues. NC State lost to us 21-2 or whatever then went to the CWS.
"Unless it continues."
-
This broke my winning streak of watching all things Hog in the state of Alabama. I’ve obviously been selective in my attendance but never seen a loss until today. I felt like I did watching a Chad coached football game

I told my wife when it got to 18-3 that this was ‘getting house by Western Kentucky’ level of shitty. This team just rolled over.
We’ve got too many guys simply playing out the string and lolling ahead to the draft. Fuck that.
ETA — meant “looking ahead,” but my autocorrect was pretty on point. Leaving it.
-

I agree. I looked at the pitching stats and seemingly every pitcher we threw today (pretty much everyone) sucked ass. But we should have better hitting this year if you look at the guys who returned that were great last year. Hopefully this loss inspires them.
-
This is all my fault. Never been to a Hogs baseball game before. Me and wifey are here to celebrate 41st anniversary. Bucket list and shit. Our expectations were so high we jinxed the team.

It was pathetic.
They lollygag the ball around the infield. They lollygag their way down to first. They lollygag in and out of the dug out.

Disappointing but a lot of fans will still be able to travel to Stillwater, if that’s where we end up.
-
I can’t say that we have played like we deserved to host down the stretch.
-
how does this work???
Per an Arkansas spokesperson, there will not be an official interim coach. Pitching coach Matt Hobbs will handle pitching decisions, and hitting coach Nate Thompson will manage hitters.
