I think you guys are reading waaaaaay too much into this.
Exactly. As long as there are no injuries, nothing but good can come from these games. Dudes on here critiquing these guys playing their 1st games together on the other side of the world in August.  ::) Normally we wouldn’t even see these guys for another 60+ days.

As Aaron Rodgers once said: R-E-L-A-X.

Not really. I'm not looking at these games and basing my expectations for the year on their play here. The fact is, however, this is all we have to gauge how they are playing against competition now. In this very limited sample size, we can see what they are currently doing well with and what they still need to work on. Obviously they are fast and athletic. They get up and down the court with ease and look to put a tremendous pace on their opponent. These guys will be a force on the boards, but they can get careless on the defensive side. Muss has mentioned this each game and will undoubtedly be an area of focus for the next several months. We've also seen the team struggle with jumpers and rely heavily on dribble drives and lobs for their points. While we can definitely still win like this (especially once the team starts playing up to Muss' standards on defense), it would obviously make things more comfortable for us if we can turn in some high FG% games. We will create huge matchup problems and open looks as the defense collapses. We need those 2-3 players that can reliably hit from outside in order to keep the pressure on the other team when this happens.

So, we’re still gonna be national champs, right?

Depends. I'm confident Muss will get these guys playing how he wants them to by the time we hit the meat of conference play, but I don't know how much of it was fatigue + a bent rim and how much of it was ongoing issues, but it looks like we still have a shooting problem. I'm not sure we can beat everyone running away just with defense and lobs to the basket.

Just a lot of slop but that's to be expected when you have this many talented guys everyone looking for the highlight. Dunning seems really solid and uninterested in showboating strikes me as a Joe Johnson type kid. He was the "weak link" of this class according to many. Black needs to probably look for his offense a bit more. Walsh is a baby gazelle learning to sprint before it learns to walk. When he gets his body under control...look out. Didn't see much of the Missouri transfer I guess he was going out about the time I tuned in. It's hard to take away much from these games...this isn't even mid-major talent we are playing. I guess the 4th game is supposed to be the toughest.

everyone looks tired.  to be expected with 3 games in five days plus travelling.

To start the final quarter, the play by play guy wonders if the Hogs can get to 100. "They'll have to score 35, but they're playing against a tired team now."  5 pts with 1:19 to go. Not the best stretch to say the least.
