Title: Thinking About Putting Some Razorback Memorabilia on teh EBay
Post by: ElvisHog on November 30, 2011, 09:49:29 PM
And it might be hilarious that I think someone would pay something for this...but I'm wondering.

I've got a six pack of 94 Championship Cokes...in the little bottles. Nary a one has been opened. They're still in the cardboard holder they came in. Perfect condition, except dusty.

They're probably not worth anything at all. But my bride and I were talking about them a little while ago, wondering if they had gone stale or anything in that long of a time. I pulled one out and started to pop the lid and a voice said "there might be a lunatic that would pay some money for these".

So...what do you think?

Why Mountain Dew? You gonna drink 'em as soon as you get 'em? And you like Mtn Dew better? That's what I'm gathering.

My dad has a five pack of razorback beer in his collection.

Dates back to the 70's.

I snuck one at age 12 and cracked it at room temp behind the shed.  Got my ass beat.

Even though it was one of my first beers, pretty sure it was green mold in that can.

The whole thing is worth about 15-20 bucks if you can find a buyer. If the basketball team starts winning the popularity will go up and the price may go up a little but they ain't gonna make you rich.

You could break it up and sell each bottle for 5 each and make more but again, finding a buyer. Honestly, the cool factor of still having them is worth more than you'll get out of them.

Funny how everyone rushed out to buy the Sports Illustrated and put them in plastic cases and shit. The main issue, the one with Corliss is worth about 12 bucks. The special National championship edition is worth about twice that and you can get about 30 for the one with Bill Clinton on the cover which was from before we won it.

The prices are all assuming perfect condition, no mailing label, etc.

I'm late to the party, but fuck it. I got a Chick Fil A mug commemorating the NC win. It's all scratched up and shit, but it'll still hold yo drank. It is not dishwasher safe.

I'm looking to get at least $500 for it. I'm using the angle that it's ultra rare and prospective buyers should avoid the Christmas rush. :stache:

oh, and I got a Marcus Monk rookie card. That's worth at least $21. No creases or folds in it, either.

I have a case of the Texas Sux beer.  Free to a good home.

It's actually pretty good when it's cold and fresh.  No idea how it tastes when it's been sitting in a garage for three years.

I also have an authentic Razorback basketball jersey autographed by Mr. Stanley Heath.  Nicely framed, I might add.  Entertaining offers from teh Wooppussy before I send it to the Sotheby's auction.

It's hard not to walk into any antique store in NWA and not see one or thirty of the 94 Champs Coke bottles. I picked up a couple of media guides from that era the other day at an estate sale which was held at the house of John Barnhill's daughter. I think they were $5 a piece. I have a ticket stub of the opening night of BWA somewhere.

Funny how those Coke bottles and Sports Illustrated issues were so hard to find back then and now they can be found pretty much everywhere.

I think that's why the Clinton one is a little more valuable. No one hung onto that one because it was at the beginning of the tournament and no one knew we'd win it all.

A basketball signed by the whole team including Nolan? Would probably price at about a grand in a memorabilia shop depending on condition. That's absolute retail though. Selling it on your own would fetch a lot less, maybe $500.

The only way you ever get the price it's worth is to find someone that is specifically looking for the exact piece you have and willing to pay for it. Memorabilia is a terrible financial investment because EVERYONE is looking for a bargain... it sure is fun though. ;D

I've collected a lot of stuff over the years. I have most of it in tub containers...I keep hoping in my next house I will have some room that I get told I can do whatever I want with, then I can display everything. I've got a lot of game used stuff...but probably The rarest things I have - 1. A pair of the Red pants (Cotton Bowl) from Material Richardson. 2. DMAC's NFL draft name badge. The one thing I regret not getting, was DMAC's game used Capital One Bowl Jersey, still had his name plate on the back & C1B patch on the front. Luckily, I know the guy that bought it (auction), but I dont think he would ever come off of it.

They sold a box of Razorback Corn Flakes back around '94 as well, used to be able to buy them at IGA and Harps.

I'd be interested in the special edition of Hawg Mountain Dew.

Mountain Dew > ice cold Coke and friggin' Megan Fox in the ash.

Maybe Petrino will get us some championship Mountain Dew when he wins a BCSCG.

I also have a helmet autographed by the '06 team, and a signed football from the same team, and a razorback beer can from some time pre-aluminum cans.  It is kinda cool, i found it in an old shed years ago.

I have the hand printed limited edition Mitch Mustain, Razorback rookie card.  Thought it might be worth something when he made all-pro in the league.

I have 5/6 of a 6-pack of Clinton Cola from the early 90s.

Are we in the same category?

They's some trailer park ladies out in loanoke county that might pay top $$$ for those, either that or trade some head for 'em.  Don't take the empties if they offer, they WILL smell bad.
