Dude on the Weather Channel just said,

"In the South, this is what they call a bread and milk storm."

Must be a woopigger.
Well, so am I! I mean, look at me, all right, what I'm wearing. I mean, I'm playing for Rio Grande Short-Haul Trucking, Briggs and Brown Sanitation, First State Bank of Salome, Woody's Smokehouse... You think a... you think a guy like me bothers to worry about the percentages?

 :stunned:

Tonight:  .3-.5" of ICE

Tuesday:  .5-.7" of ICE

If this storm produces anywhere near that much ice, get ready to not go anywhere for a couple days.  No telling what that much ice may do to power lines.  Damn.

Thank God they let us off work at 3. It wasn't too bad yet- but no one's going anywhere for a few days, unless your going into a tree.

Great.  I'm flying into Little Rock on Thursday night.  I hope we approach from the north.

> Below is a graphic showing TOTAL ice accumulation (from tonight into Wednesday). The graphic was prepared by John Lewis, one of our senior forecasters. Two other forecasters here have looked the graphic over and are in general agreement with it. I should point out that the NWS office in Tulsa thinks the ice accumulation could be somewhat greater in the northwest corner of Arkansas. As can be seen from the graphic, a large ice storm is expected, and it certainly appears there is a high probability that some parts of northern Arkansas will see a crippling, devastating ice storm with a lot of power outages. Some thunder is possible in northern Arkansas overnight.
>
> If the forecast goes awry, it would most likely be in areas close to the Missouri border in north central Arkansas. In this area, if more of the precipitation were to come down as sleet, the amount of freezing rain would be reduced somewhat.
>
> Some of the watches, warnings, and advisories may be changed before 4
> PM, so please take a look at http://www.srh.noaa.gov/lzk around 4:30
> PM to see the latest.
>
> I think there is a good chance that a freezing rain advisory may need to be pulled farther south in Arkansas this evening, perhaps even as far south as Lake Greeson, Sheridan, Pine Bluff, and DeWitt. If this change does become necessary, the Little Rock area would be included. The reason that I am concerned is that temperatures are already around the freezing mark and the air just above the ground is still rather dry. As precipitation falls down into this drier air, temperatures will drop several degrees.
>
> Precipitation coverage and intensity should increase considerably this evening. I want to mention again that, with the ground as cold as it is now, driving problems will begin to increase markedly soon after the precipitation picks up.
>
> During the day on Tuesday, the central part of the state will be very close to the dividing line between rain and freezing rain. Slightly warmer air is expected to creep up from the south, but if it does not, expect Freezing Rain Advisories or perhaps even an Ice Storm Warning to become necessary.
>
> Tuesday night, colder air will filter in from the north. Before precipitation ends, some ice could be seen as far south as the Louisiana border. And, on the back edge of the precipitation (within a couple of hours before it ends), some light snow could occur.
